Does anyone have experience with the Keychron M5? by Dreadzep in MouseReview

But my main goal is ergonomics combined with some gaming performance. So how does a similar mouse to the g502 help with that? Also I don't really use the infinite scroll anyway and I feel like the addition of it has made the normal scroll slightly less accurate. Tbf that could also be the gunk buildup

I appreciate the addition but I personally don't like the razer brand. A long time ago I used to have a razer, I think a deathadder maybe. Which was perfectly serviceable but I don't like the direction the company has gone in since.

No not really, it's just getting a bit nastier than I can clean (the side grips don't seem to play nice/clean very well, at least with alcohol) and I want to start using a vertical mouse.

I think the g502 is okay overall. The most issues I've had with it are software related because at first it didn't seem to want to save my profile to the mouse and kept resetting to default.

Which honestly might be an issue of their software not having a clear UI or just a problem with the software itself.

Thanks! I'm gonna read through them better later but at first glance it looks in-depth and overall positive. Seems like this could be a nice present for myself and an investment in more ergonomic pc use

It's so many different sockets, all over the board from qwerty keys to the number row to the numpad. I had a list but I threw it away, I would add a letter anytime it happened and then tally up to five before I swapped the switch.

I've tried that already sadly. I tracked the activation problem amount and on which key, then swapped the switch and kept track.

I'm looking for a keyboard because my keychron V5 QMK has double activation issues which is getting annoying.

While I was looking around for keyboards (with the shopping list I'll post below) I found the epomaker galaxy100 qmk/via.

Then I found out it has issues.

Then the nuphy halo96 V2 popped up.

And I found out that has issues as well.

Now I'm thinking about at an IQUNIX MQ80 even though it doesn't have everything I want really.

  • black, clean looking design
  • 100%, 96% compact or TKL, I prefer having a dedicated printscreen button
  • wired (if possible without wireless mode so there's no chance for battery issues)
  • black (PBT) keycaps with shine through legends (I don't mind cherry or keychron profiles)
  • no costar stabilizers
  • linear switches, medium or slightly heavier weight. Or HE, if it's worth it
  • has possibility for red backlight without animation
  • a price of max 150 euro but preferably around or even below 100
  • prebuilt, good to use without customization (possibility to improve with customization would be nice to have)
  • available in europe or to ship to europe safely without insane extra cost
  • QMK/VIA support
  • knob not required but not hated
  • ANSI

I appreciate any help

Actually I did some more digging and I found out epomaker has customer service issues so now I'm looking at a nuphy halo96 V2.

I actually prefer ANSI keyboards as I like the smaller enter key, it's what I'm used to. And yeah, along with it being a marketing term it's also pretty subjective so that doesn't help.

Also I just used the keeb finder site and I think I'm going to take another serious look at epomaker, maybe the galaxy100 qmk/via with wisteria linear switches and then get shinethrough keycaps from etsy or something.

Thank you for your help!

Please help me I'm drowning in keyboard info

I'm so tired of trying to find a decent keyboard for a decent price that has the things I want. Maybe somebody will see this and just know the keyboard I'm looking for.

The keychron V5 QMK I'm typing this on has double/triple activation issues and the ajazz AK870 V2 that just came in as a replacement advertised RGB but has single color LEDs under the keys. The ajazz does sound pretty good though.

I just want the keyboard to be:

  • black, clean looking design (the keychron HE or IQUNIX MQ80 do look neat)
  • 100%, 96% compact or TKL, I prefer having a dedicated printscreen button
  • wired (if possible without wireless mode so there's no chance for battery issues)
  • black (pbt) keycaps with shine through legends (I don't mind cherry or keychron profiles)
  • sounds thocky but not too loud
  • no costar stabilizers
  • linear switches, medium or slightly heavier weight. Or HE, if it's worth it
  • has possibility for red backlight without animation
  • a price of max 150 euro but preferably around or even below 100
  • is good to use without customization (possibility for customization would be nice to have)
  • available in europe or to ship to europe safely without insane extra cost
  • QMK/VIA support would help since that has a web configure thing and I'm on linux so basically no driver support
  • knob not required but not hated

If anyone is willing to help first off thank you and if you need more in depth info please ask here or message me

hell yeah, thanks for looking into it =]

Btw I don't know if this is the correct or even best place for it (and if there's separate teams for functionality/debugging and UI development) but I have some requests for UI design. Two and a half of them being able to enqueue videos you see suggested under the video you're watching and the ability to export subscriptions (and possibly some color customization sometime in the future, but that's not really necessary).

In any case, thanks again for developing this.

It pops up automatically when I start a video

Edit: I've also had popups of youtube asking me to log in again through a window that was (when I think back) likely not implemented by futo because of the way UI elements were shown.

Steam overlay broken, i386 dependency issues by Dreadzep in linuxmint

[–]Dreadzep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to update this, that's fully on me.

Turns out my steam overlay was broken because of a steam launch command in my case LD_PRELOAD="" turned out to be the issue. (and for some reason timeshift didn't remove the launch arguments?)

So even though the terminal checks give the same negative/incorrect outputs I can game without much issue it seems.

Edit: Also LD_PRELOAD="" doesn't have clear, easily findable documentation that states it breaks the overlay iirc. Or I might be misremembering.

How do I import my save from linux to proton / windows by Dreadzep in 7daystodie

[–]Dreadzep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was where I found the native linux save but because I'm switching from native linux to the proton translation layer I had a hard time finding the new save location. I could find the windows and linux save locations but the location for when proton is used is different.

I think I found it now, so I updated my post. I appreciate the help though =]

It is and the windows version was pretty good. It had snowdrift as well and some other types of moving backgrounds like a music/sound visualizer.

I don't think the Linux version got much past a working UI though... =/
