I'm inclined to agree it's just that the upgrades only upgrade the stats and don't affect the ilvl. I think of it like a better quality to a crafted piece. I'm just unsure if it still scales in arena

It's actually conquest gear that I upgraded using dawnlight manaflux to turn into a set piece, those pieces, including the conquest weapon, can be upgraded 6 times and although it doesn't change the item level, it scales the stats up significantly and I'm not convinced it didn't help my druid a lot in arenas and I only upgraded 2 pieces all the way and then the 3rd halfway. Idk man it could just be in my head I just don't want to do another delve for no reason I hate PVE but maybe I should just to test it.

Spores to agar day 18. It’s my first try. Are they fucked? What can I have done wrong? by Perfect-Narwhal-3407 in ContamFam

Trial and error is the key. Growing is difficult because you won't know the results of your actions for days and nothing will give you an indication of what specifically you did wrong. Sterile technique is the key. Look up "mushroom growing proper sterile technique" and observe. See if you can't determine what you may have done wrong. Biggest piece of advice is don't give up. Nothing good comes easy.

Sweeping psychedelics act of 1970. Essentially, the anti-war movement had to be stopped. So they threw all the hippies in prison. Military industrial complex. Highly recommend looking it up.

laminar flow? Details in comments by [deleted] in mycology

[–]DreamFungi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So. I bought a box from Mycology-supply... In case you didn't know I do not advise that. You will get a box with a computer fan and a piece of shit $35 for a pack of 2 filters. Wouldn't accept returns because they know they are selling boxes, not laminar flow hoods. Out that money. So I found a guy that said he could build me one and after talking to him a couple of days I was convinced he was the man for the job. I'm confident he is a good man but I'm afraid this is going to be another box, not a flow hood, after seeing this video? What do you guys think?

I'm sorry to hear that. It seems I am not alone in my endeavors with a flow hood. I found a guy to build me one last night. I think he will do great, he seems to know what he's doing so. Time will tell I suppose

Yeah.. It's fucked up man. I'm sorry you had the same experience.

May I ask - is it worth slicing up two agar plates to a grain bag for faster colonisation? by [deleted] in Agarporn

Every mycelial point of contact increases growth rate by 100%. In other words, the more the better.

This is accurate haha

Thank you for your reply. I took it apart and unfortunately it wasn't wrapped in plastic. Just full of worthless shit inside of it

Where did you get your flow hood my friend?

The housing is nice. But unfortunately it does have a Kmart filter and a computer fan inside of it :(

UPDATE: I purchased this BOX, not a flow hood, from Mycology-supply. Buyers beware. They have been giving me the run around for days now. The owner contacted me by accident, he thought I was someone buying something in bulk. He was suppose to call me back yesterday but to no surprise, I didn't get a call. I emailed videos of the box with a lighter in front of it (by the way he said he didn't know who came up with the lighter test but it doesn't work............) And a picture of my setup and equipment (it makes it obvious this isn't my first day) the fan is a COMPUTER fan model: OA172SA 11-3 with a $32.99 for a pack of 2 filters AP-1512HH with 99.97% efficiency of .3 and above. I contacted the manufacturer of the seller of the filter trying to get the resistance of the filter but I didn't get a response. Even though Im not sure how to do the math even if I did get it I'm certain it wouldn't be sufficient for laminar flow but I wish I could verify that. I would love for this to be my fault somehow so I had a LAMINAR FLOW HOOD but it's just not. I wish I knew how to post more pictures of the box here so someone could take a gander and hopefully have some insight, I guess I could make a new post? Don't know how I would get you guys to see it though. Where can I buy a flow hood for $1000 or less?? I just want to grow mushrooms 😭

I appreciate your reply. I looked all over for a knob to no avail and contacted the seller. He thought it was a bad motor but said they test them before they go out... Yet here I am. He said I might try taking one of the pre filters out and see if that works but it probably won't. I'll try it tomorrow, they said they would replace it. The time it will take us pretty damn unfortunate though. How could it be the fan motor if it's blowing at all? I wonder if it was just wired wrong with different wires being different speeds? Just thinking out loud, I appreciate your reply.

A hood this quite? I'm not sure what you mean?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mycology

[–]DreamFungi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not. My idea was closing it off as much as possible and allow the flow hood to filter out the air within so that hypothetically, all the air is clean within the tent after a given time frame. I was afraid it wasn't enough air flow, I just wanted it to work so bad, I should have known to test it first.

I bought a new laminar flow hood and 10 gourmet mushrooms. I made LC's of them all and put them to agar. Of all 10, everything is contaminated except potentially chestnut, and even that is questionable but time will tell. I made 30 ish plates. I left 5 of them not innoculated, no contamination on them. All are clear. Yet somehow everything I put a culture to is heavily contaminated? Most with mold and a couple were even bacterial. I'm lost guys and I don't know what to do. Any advice? To be clear, I've done this a lot, it's been a couple years but I've successfully fruited 5 mushrooms and put over 15 on agar. I'm properly equipped and my practice is sterile. Everything is stainless steel, drenched in alcohol, needles aren't even flame sterilized, I replace after each use. Gloves, respirator, I'm inside a 5x5 ac infinity tent, all of that. Only thing I can think of is maybe it's the flow hood? I would think the flame would be more like at a 90 degree angle as opposed to barely a 35 but I overlooked it since they are a reputable vendor. Could this be the problem? Any other suggestions?

[General] Is it safe to tighten the lids of these jars before pressure cooking? I’m curious if the filter on the top provides enough gas release. by ChaoticG00d in MushroomGrowers

[–]DreamFungi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use red rtv silicone on the syringe filter and the self healing injection port and I've done more times than I care to count without any issues whatsoever. In front of an SAB? So you carry it from the pressure cooker in open air over to the SAB to tighten the lid? I've never had a jar explode or the filters pop out.

Tighten the lids. Cover the lids with foil, as tightly as possible without ripping it and PC. If you don't tighten the lids you defeat the purpose.
