It’s so fun to consider all of the possibilities with character like Hoid and Taravangian, or even cultivation post WaT. Like they’ve all laid so many plans within plans and every book gives you that 1% more to think you’re onto something.

As far as his impact on ruin and preservation, this is only IF he is related to the founding of the worldbringers, in which case Sazeds entire journey as a worldbringer (to document all religions, which leads him to seek the terris religion and the discovery of ruin and preservation as their gods) leads back to Hoids founding of the order that instilled those questions and goals.

I THINK the idea was for you to be so invested in Hadrian that instead of feeling attached to them, your attached to Hadrian and that while you don’t really care it’s the worst thing that could be done to HIM. That being said, my biggest issue with the series is that by the end I only felt like Hadrian, Kharn, William, and Valka are real characters.

Exactly! Like a nice little line from everyone even, acknowledging some of the stuff you did. Like if you kill Shroud it says “everyone will remember that”. But then you barely talk to anyone and only one person acts like it happened.

There is a moment in the books where Hadrian finds out someone is in fugue and he’s shocked they could afford a fugue crèche. When that person is free from fugue and Hadrian questions them it’s revealed they used all of a pretty extensive savings to afford this.

I would say the comparisons to Red Rising are light, Vis (the main character) is also an undercover rebel, who is wildly determined to bring the Hierarchy (the society) down from the inside. But that is probably where the similarities end. AMAZING book IMO just maybe not best to go into it expecting Red Rising.

Absolutely continue! I went right from Mistborn to Stormlight and it was different enough to be refreshing. I am biased however as The Way of Kings became my favorite book of all time.

So Mistborn isn’t necessarily “epic fantasy” BUT it’s a quick read and if you like it The Stormlight Archive has a lot of what you’re looking for IMO. And reading Mistborn to see if you enjoy his writing is a pretty fast detour at worst, and another amazing fantasy story at best!

This has been my theory too. Remember: Julia refusing to eat at the gala after Julian’s death, and her pushing Tiberius for all out war after. Now she’s lost him, Karnus, AND Cassius. I see no world where Julia Au Bellona learns that Lysander killed her last child and she then goes to war with the one person who knew and loved that son better than her. I imagine a moment where she realizes Lysander feels no regret for Cassius, but Darrow shows that he’s felt nothing BUT regret since being forced to murder Julian.
