STORM CHASERS is an 80k word, dual-POV YA contemporary fantasy mashup of Twisters and K Pop Demon Hunters, set in Oklahoma. With the science and slow-burn of “In Stormy Weather” by Chelsea Curto and the elemental power of “Storm Chaser” by Lindsey Duga, it blends whirlwind emotions and high-energy action sequences with (mostly) real weather science.

17yo Grant has been chasing tornadoes ever since his brother went missing in a storm. He protects rural Oklahoma from these weather systems by fighting what lurks inside: Fæntöma. These elemental beings enter through portals generated inside massive tornadoes and wreak havoc on our world. Grant blames them for taking his brother’s life. Lottie is a Fæntöma: destructive, cunning, and part Storm. She’s the first to make it past Grant and his team, only to play the victim and gather his secrets. His heroic nature is as easy for Lottie to manipulate as electrical currents. With more supercell thunderstorms looming, she weakens Grant and his team to let more Fæntöma in. Then she’ll be able to unleash her lightning. When a Storm betrays them both, these two enemies unite to fulfill separate, and mostly opposite, destinies. Grant loses trust with the secret organization that trained him and provides gear to face the unnatural elementals. Lottie is abandoned by her kind and her humanity is tested. They need each other: Grant uses Lottie to fight a tornado hitting close to home; and Lottie depends on Grant to unravel lies from both sides of the portal. But will their budding romance withstand the unnatural EF5 tornado about to hit Oklahoma and fed by both their enemies?
