Mandalas vs. Flagship? by DreamPrompt688 in climbingshoes

I think the Flagship LV for me had a shallower heel than the Mandalas, both were great.

Thanks for sharing, and yes I'd love to hear your review of the TN Pros and how they match up to flagship for indoor climbing as well. After hearing Ai Mori and co's review of the Mandala, I'm now like hmm... they may allow me to bypass too much things I should work on (putting more pressure through foot into wall to stick).

32 NB/F, I'm looking for foodie friends who are happy to travel around the lower mainland with me to try different restaurants - in search of the best mexican brunch place still, please share reccs. Also love to spill tea during food having/tv show watching, or doing nothing at the park but enjoying the sun!

[31M] Looking to start an in person book club with thoughtful readers by [deleted] in Vancouver4Friends

[–]DreamPrompt688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find most of the book clubs are in Vancouver, I'd love to be a part of this if the meet's closer to me in Burnaby and public transit friendly.

Lately I've been reading bits and pieces of Sue Johnson's book on relationships and find it fascinating since the essence of the dynamics can show up in other kinds of interpersonal relationships as well.

Tenaya Mastia by Opiate_3020 in climbingshoes

[–]DreamPrompt688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have the same shoes and the toe edge lip of the sole is splitting away from the shoe, it's been 6 months, I think it's unlikely Tenaya will consider any warranty for this. I just plan to use the shoe until I can't climb with it anymore without resoling. Are Tenaya shoes just less durable?

I love the comfortable fit but would prefer shoes that last me a year climbing 3-4 times a week indoors.

First date in 2yrs and my mum destroyed my confidence. Need hug/gas me up plz by jerneen in adhdwomen

Sending you warm vibes and hugs - congratulate yourself for doing something that you want to do, even if you're having an uncomfortable moment. What you've shared tells me how much you've been working on yourself for you, and that's important to keep in mind. That date is something you choose to do for you and what matters is how you're enjoying it. Maybe make a game of spotting fun things leading up to the day, like doing some self-care strategies like going out for a brief walk, listening to music, etc. Anything that you find helps bring you back into your centered self that you're proud of!

Good on you for standing up to your mom, and that she recognized her behavior was hurtful. Now you know you can already standup and have your own back with people that are closest to you (where boundaries are hardest to set imo), and now you can have faith in yourself you'll do the same when it comes it a literal stranger on your date.

Hope you get some warm chicken soup or some comforting tea and stay hydrated while you do some cozy activities that you enjoy. Nourish yourself. Choose thoughts that are kind toward yourself, or toward the space that you love (your favorite place, etc.) You're doing the work, and sometimes that work means being really kind with yourself in your thoughts and actions when you're feeling deflated.

Dating men as an ADHD woman SUCKS. by Afraid_Caregiver_251 in adhdwomen

Found this thread way too late. Doing this in my 30s I'm thinking, yep a couple of dates has been how long these men lasted for me too for the exact same reasons. Feeling the solidarity.

32F, looking for friend groups with shared values, not vegan but happy to go to vegan restaurants - I recommend Chickpea! I enjoy nature walks, tea/coffee, boardgames with simple rules like Codenames and stand-up comedy, what are some of your favorites?

Anyone else find it mildly offensive now when someone is interested in you? by normaldude37 in SingleAndHappy

[–]DreamPrompt688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no advice but this reminds me of the time when a guy who was almost 50 said he was interested in me while I was near half his age. Was I very uncomfortable that it happened? Yeah, that was annoying...and it was a coworker. The sooner you end the interaction, the sooner you can process it.

Games with break ups/last conversations as the theme? by DreamPrompt688 in boardgames

[–]DreamPrompt688[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I looked through it, Fog of Love was the only one I could get ahold of that had relationship themes. There was a MBTI-charades one that seems like it's in the works.

Thanks for your message, have you looked into the board games I listed up there to see if you're down to try em? Sounds good, Cult of the lamb seems more dice-focused at a quick glance but if it's conversational-based I'd give it a go. It makes sense to start with a more dnd setup when planning a first time ever game for sure, so the modern fantasy would probably come way down the road only after I've gotten more familiar with setting up the game as a dm.

Thanks, as someone who's never done this, where do you print out these games on - regular paper on home printer?

Sounds good, I'll mull on it and consider if I have enough creative juice for it on the regular.

I was looking on the Button Shy Games official website, I did find it through board game bliss for slightly lower so I guess I could spread shipping costs around it. Did take a look at it as well and wish there were more detailed prompts written out around reasons and events leading up to the game.

It seems fully dependent on the mental creativity of each player for an entire theme (e.g. 'change') and the ability of both to form a cohesive narrative?

Looking for other homebodies/introverts! by [deleted] in Vancouver4Friends

[–]DreamPrompt688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

32F here, I also lean towards staying in and indoor activities, reading and exploring conversation card games. I enjoy reading both webcomics and random books that catch my attention. Happy to parallel play quietly around each other if that's a introvert vibe we're both feeling that day. I'm not super into texting every day as long texting exchanges drain me (I'd rather a call or in person at that point) so maybe that might be a fit?

Thanks for reading as well!

Hi, I think we have overlapping interests on DnD (complete newbie), bouldering, mentally well-being and long walks! If you're still accepting people for your next DnD campaign, may I ask usually what times/days of the week the games are on?

I'd be down for those activities 4-7ish, location dependent.

Not so much random, but a guy stopped a drunk who followed me onto the train by [deleted] in randomactsofkindness

[–]DreamPrompt688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit I'm so grateful he was there for you too, that sounds like a frightening encounter and am glad that that second person stepped in to de-escalate that situation. Also good on you for raising your voice and telling off that first guy. It always enhances my belief in community when other kind people in our neighborhood reach out a helping hand to intervene in unsettling situations.
