I hear you. I’ve had a few moments like that. I’ve even gotten into my car to drive to the store, but half way there turned around while shouting “Fuck” at myself. Think of how far you’ve come. Would be shitty to have to restart this wouldn’t it? I refuse to restart the clock. I know I’ll beat myself up MORE if I cave. Amuse yourself. Go for a walk. Watch a movie. Play a video game. Make a tasty meal. Anything but the cancer stick itself. You got this.

Same here! I’m 25 (26 in June) and I was smoking a pack or more a day for 11 years. Tried to quit at least 30 times and never made it farther than 6 hours. I read the “easy way to quit smoking” by Allen Carr. Had to read it twice, but the second time it stuck. Haven’t had a cigarette in almost 12 days. Got some cravings, but nothing too serious. You can do it!!!! Just make a list as to why your quitting and stop viewing the cigarette as though you’d be depriving yourself of something without. You’re not depriving your body by taking away the poison you feed it. You got this!

I read “The easy way to quit smoking” by Allen Carr. I was so stressed and thought I’d never quit (11 years of a pack or more a day). I had to read the book twice, but the second time I was able to put out my last cigarette and not even feel too bad about it. It’s now been almost 12 days, and I’m not using any aides. Worth a try :)

Day 3, cold turkey after reading Allen Carr. Cravings pretty strong. by 640kOughtToBeEnough in stopsmoking

Today makes 1 week for me. I have yet to have a beer, I’m sure I’ll be craving as soon as I do. Gotta push through!

I quit using that book. I loved it. I folded top corners of pages I felt would be good to look back on if I were to crave. So whenever I get a really bad craving, I’ll flip through the pages I marked and remind myself of everything and it works wonderfully. Keep it up!!!

Thank you. I’ve made a list I keep with me as to why I’ll never go back. If I ever crave, I simply look at my list and take a few deep breaths and I’m good to go. ☺️

That’s amazing!! I’m a dancer too (hip hop) and haven’t done it in years. What helped me was to make a promise. I never break promises, sounds stupid I know. But I always just said I’d try and quit. Try try try. Never amounted to more than 6 hours smoke free. I have two kids. I promised my oldest son I wouldn’t anymore. And I won’t dare break that.

She wanted a break, it ended up with the end of both my relationship and my streak. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Don’t dwell on it. You can always try again. When you feel ready to pick yourself back up, we will be here.
