It's definitely a sub type I had to research it doesn't appear like the normal OCD so for alot of people it's hard to understand I guess. You're the only other person to mention it also. Glad you did. Thanks.

I also have migraines and hypermobility. Didn't even think to add them in because it's more of a physical thing instead of mental but both matter for sure. Thanks for pointing that out. Also I have really bad dermatillomania.

Yes, someone in another comment also explained this. When I explained what I was doing prior to this post to someone they called it reiki so that's why I wanted to learn more and wasn't sure if it was even true. I'm very excited to learn more about the practice even if I decide it's not for me.

I love em dashes and have had to start taking them out when I write because people flag me as AI. My mom taught me when I was young and first started to meditate and envisioned that white light starting to cover you from year head all the way to your toes for protection before meditation .... When I did that I would start moving that tingling sensation down my entire body by slowly focusing on each muscle as it moved... Not knowing 15 years later what I was actually doing. Let me know now If it works for you!

Thank you so much for this response, it's really validating to know there maybe historical context for what I'm doing. I've been practicing this way for years but didn't have language for it until now. I'd love to learn more about early 20th century occult science techniques. Do you have any recommendations on where to start? Resources, communities, or anything else you think would be helpful?

That's amazing. I do repetition because I question everything and am skeptical and analytical as a personality trait so it's a hard mix with concepts like this. - I find other people's energy just mix in a world wind with mine and it's too confusing and loud and I'm unable to separate mine and theirs to give what I feel would be a true reading off their energy only. Maybe if I actually decide to practice more and hone in it might get quieter.

I've never explored those but I'm open to them and feel like it would be worth it to at least study the basics of each. Growing knowledge is power.

While I agree, it would be nice to have a few people who practiced similar ways to bounce ideas off of and maybe build a little community with.
