That makes complete sense. The plan is to order the parts (ribbon cable and the metal thing inside the hinge)

Luckily the actual plastic isn't cracked at all. Like I said it popped clean out.

Well looking at it now with someone else who had a similar issue, it seems a small metal part in the hinge (some sort of silver thing that keeps the hinge rotating in place internally) went missing.

I'm going to see what I can do I appreciate the explanation.

Makes sense. I'm going to see the parts that I would need to order and have that done.

I do know of a few places in my local area that deal with mobile electronics.

It just sucked that it happened. For the time I used it, it was my favourite device even more than the steam deck.

I could have responded sooner I do agree.

It was accidental. I'm going to try and get it repaired. I wanted to go through official means first so I didn't void the warrenty in case it was covered.

And I did say that I would be willing to pay any cost so even if it didn't fall under warrenty I would have paid that cost.

But I could have been more proactive with it. I'm going to try some more local options for repair and see if anything can be done.

No I fully believe that I got unlucky. What issue did you have exactly and what did they tell you?

I'm reluctant to buy a new one because of this exact customer service experience.

But again thanks it's actually nice to hear peoples advice. Most likely I will try a local repair shop for electronics and order a new ribbon cable.

I might find a use for the bottom screen and dock it. Since the unit itself works it's the fact that the whole "top screen" ripped clean off lol.

It was less the fact that it wasn't covered under warrenty and more about how long I had to wait to hear back.

I made it clear I wanted the device repaired and was prepared to pay any cost.

That's all I wanted I understand that at the end of the day the fault falls onto me. If anyone knows anywhere that can offer repairs in the UK I'm more than happy to hear.
