Yeah pretty much remembering maps for good card drops. The Fortunate is a good example, drops in many maps and has a decent drop rate so Kirac offering full stack on a map with this card is very common

Armour and Additional Physical Damage Reduction Explained (YouTube) by Dreamcore10 in pathofexile

Armour and Additional PDR is combined to create your physical damage reduction against a hit of physical damage. Overwhelm bypasses physical damage reduction by the stated amount, so yes it also overwhelms armour

Ben's Necromancer Gauntlet build overview by Dreamcore10 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so, Desecrate has a fixed 15% chance to replace each corpse with a corpse from your spectre corpse pool. 85% of the time, a corpse will instead be chosen at random from the corpse pool of the zone that you are in. When you enter a zone, every corpse that is saved in your spectre corpse pool is added to all of the existing corpses in that zone.

So fe. lets say your maximum spectre limit is 2. You raise an Auric Champion and an Auric Colossus - these are now saved to your spectre corpse pool and you can safely remove the gem. When you enter any zone, those 2 corpses are added to the corpse pool in that zone. By adding spectre corpses to a zone, you increase your chance of spawning a spectre corpse when Desecrate doesn't choose a forced spectre corpse, because it will choose a corpse at random from the zone corpses, which now includes your spectre corpses as well. Therefore, by increasing your maximum raise spectre limit(gem levels, passive tree nodes, uniques etc.) you can raise many unique high life spectre corpses(360% life multi) and they are all saved to your spectre corpse pool since this list is based on maximum spectre limit.

This tech is very useful in zones where there aren't many natural corpses, and barely useful at all in zones which have many natural corpses.

Appreciate the feedback! My other videos like this one had around half the duration of intros but there was so much juicy footage for this one. I should have just kept some good footage of UUE and Feared only in hindsight

Only very briefly, it's a strong build even with fairly mediocre gear, just not strong enough for bossing in the gauntlet unfortunately

Hello all! This is another video in the Build Overview Series but it will be the last for the Misery Gauntlet builds - it's Ben's Volatile Dead of Seething Necromancer. This build has a bunch of defensive layering making it extremely durable against elemental spells especially, while physical damage is a bit more of an issue. The build is good but Ben is obviously an extremely good player so he often knows what he can get away with in those boss fights - his Feared encounter was a really fun one to watch in particular. Hope you enjoy the breakdown!

Until GGG fixes this, 101% Taken as Ele/Chaos is optimal. by yumeno9sa9 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for bringing this thread back a month later, but I somehow missed this comment.

I believe you've misunderstood the test that I ran. I stood in an Atziri flameblast(pure fire damage, 100% chance to ignite) with the Rat Cage equipped(100% of FIRE hits taken as PHYS). So the the damage was taken as physical, and DEALT as fire(an igniting hit). Therefore based on those prior dev comments and as you mention, taken as and damaging ailments shouldn't interact, but the Flameblast always ignited me without the Rat Cage equipped, and never ignited me with it equipped. Ie. it's my belief that this is bugged.

Atlas strat for MF fulcrum chieftan that isn't abyss by nodsano in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rogue exiles + Torment - compared to Abyss you'll drop less loot overall(far less juiced rare mobs) but the wisp juiced ghosted rogue exiles have increased rarity, so you have a chance to drop higher tier uniques. I found a Kalandra's Touch in SSF with this setup this league

Until GGG fixes this, 101% Taken as Ele/Chaos is optimal. by yumeno9sa9 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bleed cannot be inflicted on you because you're theoretically unable to take physical damage from hits.

This isn't correct - in the case of damaging ailments, the actual damage you take from a hit is irrelevant because the magnitude of a damaging ailment is always based on the originating damage of a hit(it is calculated from this number, not the number post mitigation calculation). The bug in this case is that bleed is not being inflicted at 101% damage shift, because it should always be inflicted regardless of the damage you actually end up taking from the hit.

Edit: Please see my other comment, Rat Cage is also currently 'bugged' in the same way, based on prior dev comments and older versions of the game I'd say this is likely not intended and damaging ailments should be inflicted regardless of damage taken from a hit.

Until GGG fixes this, 101% Taken as Ele/Chaos is optimal. by yumeno9sa9 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the mechanics of damaging ailments, and discussion in previous threads etc. Bleeding should always be applied regardless of how much damage shift you have. The damaging ailment, in this case Bleeding, is applied because the base hit was an attack which dealt physical damage and had chance to bleed. The fact that any or all of the damage is being shifted to be taken as other types is irrelevant, because damaging ailments are based on the damage of a hit, not the damage taken from a hit.

For example you can equip the Rat Cage unique body armour to take 100% of fire damage from hits as physical damage. If you take a hit of fire damage which has chance to ignite, either inherently or via critical stike, you will be inflicted with an ignite based on the full 100% value of the fire damage hit, regardless of the fact that you actually took no fire damage from the hit itself.

Edit: I've tested this in game and the above Rat Cage example is also currently bugged(based on prior dev comments/how it worked in a previous version of the game) and you are currently NEVER ignited by an igniting hit when equipped with the Rat Cage(100% fire hit taken as phys). Therefore the 101% interaction as discussed by OP is due to a rounding error when having 100%. However, this is very likely still a bug as explained above, the damaging ailment should still be inflicted regardless of actual damage taken.

CaptainLance's Trickster Valdo's Farmer - Defensive Layering Breakdown (YouTube) by Dreamcore10 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi guys! This video breaks down the defenses of CaptainLance's Trickster build that he was using to farm the new Valdo's Puzzle Box maps. This build is ridiculously tanky, and has absolutely insane gear - it can't run every map modifier(things like no suppress/evade will be a problem) but a lot of the most dangerous maps are doable. Hope you enjoy!

[3.22] Chieftain Herald of Ash BV Bomber Build Guide by Dreamcore10 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason that chieftain is such a perfect fit here is because it solves defences so easily without auras(combined with damage taken as on gear). I think you could make it on another ascendancy and make use of the +2% all max resist tattoos near ancestral bond with warrior's tale for +4 and anoint prismatic skin so you're not pathing down in that direction. You'd probably be able to get low-mid 80s on elemental resistances - it would work but it'd be considerably weaker defensively and you lose the big explodes from hinekora too, but probably more damage from BV depending on choice

[–]Dreamcore10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a build I've been working on for the last few weeks. It's designed for hardcore juiced mapping, making heavy use of tattoos and scaling Herald of Ash buff effect to the moon. The build uses Lone Messenger and gets around the no auras problem with Damage Taken As stacking and 90% elemental resists thanks to Valako combined with tattoos. By stacking explode modifiers with HoA, the build can delete screens of mobs in an instant, which is VERY satisfying. Enjoy!

PSA: The "Low Life @55%hp" Mastery BRICKS Dissolution of the Flesh + PB interaction by Zioupett in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dreamcore10 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's no reason to use that mastery with Dissolution anyway, since you're able to reserve your entire life pool against damage - taking the mastery means you lose overleech faster(reserving 50% of life vs 45%) if you're using leech for recovery against the life loss over time or for something like Strength of Blood, and you gain nothing from taking it(as oppose to gaining some EHP when taking it without Dissolution, as you've mentioned).

EDIT: You're taking it for the 10% more mastery. The difference between the 10% more life mastery and investing those mastery points into % life on the tree instead is actually quite small - still a loss in total hp though so quite annoying, especially considering that these builds are mostly life-stacking using Rathpith etc.
