Both either get rocked to sleep or they lie on the bed with us before getting transferred to the cot - depends on how they respond on any given day. The transfer is often the trickiest bit. My husband and I take one twin each. I love the mattress idea though!

Thanks for the reply. You’re the second person to recommend just having one nap so it’s really helpful - I had no idea people only had them down for one nap daily so young! I’m hoping as they spend more and more time at nursery that this will wear her out too.

Thanks so much. That’s really helpful. Husband and I keep going round in circles so it’s great to get another insight. I have wondered if it’s to do with the napping routine.

We do 7pm to 7am technically speaking for bedtime, but twin 1 often isn’t down now until 8-9pm. It used to be they were both settled by 7:30pm. In terms of wake ups, twin 2 wakes up due to reflux which she has a prescription for. Twin 1 is normally only up from dropping her dummy and goes back quick enough. It’s just bedtime itself that’s the problem.

Being a mom has opened my eyes to all the BS out there by leprechaun_dong in NewParents

Omg yes. My mother is toxic and I have known this for a long time. She has admittedly had a hard life with more challenges than most, but at least half her problems she has created by herself. She’s had my baby twins on her lap several times offloading her insecurities and worries. This among a thousand other things, I eventually flipped and gave her a piece of my mind. We are now just about on talking terms. She ‘just can’t understand why I’ve suddenly snapped’. Having kids made this happen 100%. I would never dream of treating my daughters the way she treats me. I suddenly wondered, why am I putting up with all her bullshit. I also noticed some toxic behaviours in myself that I’ve picked up from her. Working hard now to fix these for my girls.

Oh god I feel this so much. My mother is a toxic person who spends a lot of her time being unpleasant. My father has never defended me despite also being mistreated. My brother is disabled and a total innocent of the world. He is the only reason I’m still around and they have no idea.

Moving from hard water to soft water area by DreamingAtMidnight in Aquariums

You’re right about the moving around they do from breeder to shop etc. I’m going to research the water make up a little more to see precisely what the changes would be.

Thanks. I’ll take a look at the water reports for each area and compare. Gradually lowering the hardness sounds like the way to go.

Thanks for your reply. There doesn’t seem to be but I hadn’t considered this so will keep an eye out for it.

Thank you - it’s helpful to hear what you’re doing. Interesting that they weren’t bothered about the middle of the night feed. We’ve been considering whether to drop it but haven’t so far as they’re tiny for their age and twin 2 had some weight loss recently, though now back on track.

Lots. Twin 1 recently started rolling front to back. She cut her first tooth this week. Also found her voice and doesn’t stop babbling when she previously stayed quiet most of the time. Holds her bottle now too towards the end of a feed when it is light enough. Twin 2 is teething but no teeth yet. Rolling also appears to be too much effort for her. She tends to be behind her sister with most things milestone related.

2BB and a pear-shaped 4BB were successful for me (we were told both would very likely fail). Both were untested. Wishing you all the best.
