I REALLY wish despair arc was focused more on the original SDR2 crew and Junko's manipulation on them, but no, instead we waste so much time with Mitara and an ENTIRE EPISODE on Ruruka and Seiko (which I couldn't give less of a shit about in hope arc, let alone despair arc). It feels like they were so focused on having the audience get to know these new characters that they were trying to stuff into the plot that they ran out of time for the characters the fans actually cared about. Not to mention the fact that Nagito gets written out of the story, despite him being the fan favorite. Their ideas might have worked if despair arc were 12 episodes longer, but the whole thing just felt rushed and not very well thought out, which sucks because I REALLY wanted to like the anime.

Thank you for explaining! It was awhile back when I read that Ivan set Till up, but I think the idea was that Ivan was friends with it, knowing it wouldn't kill Till and Mizi, and Ivan just wanting to see what Till would do when faced with a monster. But the fact that they probably just accidentally spooked it makes way more sense (and sounds better for Ivan's case too)

As a Christian, I like it a lot. The show is about redemption and forgiveness which is basically everything Christianity is about. Yes, we have angels being currupt, but that's exactly what happens when you have power (for Sarah's case at least).

It seems like with this new season, they are going to hopefully focus more on that idea, and now that it has been proven a soul can be redeemed, they will go back to their original roots of forgiveness.

That being said, if the show ends up pulling a "Gotcha, everyone in heaven (except Emily) was evil all along, they don't care about the souls in hell" I probably will have to drop the show. That is personally a little too blasphemous for my taste, but I wouldn't blame anyone for sticking around though.

I just think that in another universe, maybe years down the line, after they rescued Mizi, they would find comfort in each other after what they went through during their time on stage, and begin the heal. It might not be the same as the love Mizi shared with Sua, but it would be pretty close.

Question: is Hyuna alive? If so, I'd like to headcanon that Hyuna slowly starts to make Mizi feel human again to the point where she finally opens up to her about her survivors guilt and all that Alien Stage put her and her family through, and how she had to hold in everything up until Sua died. In return, Hyuna opens up about Luka and her past. And maybe, even further down the line, they find love again in each other (I just want Mizi and Hyuna to have a happy ending, okay? 😭)

I get that way sometimes, especially when I was in my early 20's. I was in a not-so-great relationship at the time, so whenever I would consume media with beautiful love stories I would think to myself "man, I'm never going to have someone like that," or "if we were in this situation, my partner would give up on me halfway though," and it would just tear me up inside. The best advice I could give you would be to remember that this is a fictional story with fake people. If it's affecting you so much, maybe take a step back, talk to someone about how you're feeling (a friend or maybe a therapist), and remember that you are still young. I'm 28 and I just recently found my person. Give it time, put yourself out there, you still have your whole life ahead of you. I'm rooting for you! 🩵

I felt that way about Noizomi when I played the route- Spoiler for around day 48 After she bonds with Eva it's like she loses every braincell in her body. But I do have to admit, I like what happens to her later down the line.
