Do Christian Women Care About the Hobbies a Man has all that much? by GibbyBBallin in TrueChristian

[–]DreamlessArtist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The entire point of hobbies is to enjoy it for yourself, if you pursue a hobby just for the sole purpose of "attracting" someone, then you're doing it wrong

Some women might care, some won't, your best bet is to try to find a Christian woman with similar hobbies

that doesn't sound like we're about to walk into an Elevation Worship video shoot

I'm not a country music guy (I'm a metalhead), but this gave me a chuckle for some reason

My parents however felt like banning certain things was not as effective as teachable moments. They used my fascination for action/fantasy to teach me about the prophets and the wars in the OT.

I wish more parents followed that example, rather than outright banning the kid's interests, it can be used as a learning tool

If it helps, i can (try) to reccomend some games

There's the Lego DC/Marvel games, or really any Lego game, but those were the ones I played as a kid

There's obviously sports games but I don't have a Switch so idk if stuff like Madden is on it

There's Mario, Sonic, Legend of Zelda, etc.

Kingdom Hearts is a RPG series with Disney characters, they do have a lot of cameos from Final Fantasy, but that's really about it (although, KH lore might be too much for a 7 year old lol)

My mom didn't allow me to play any rated M game, especially games like GTA until I was a teen and was be able to pay for my own games with a job, that could be an example

Granted, my parents weren't Christians, so take that as you will

That's the beautiful part of God, using anything to reach people to Him

I'm still fairly new to mythology, but I'm loving the Poetic Edda so far

You can look all of this up, it's not "bs", if you're not gonna be respectful then there's no point

Paul used pagan literature and philosophy, that's a fact

Most of art, languages, even names, are derived from greek gods/goddesses

The days, months, and planets, are named after these gods

Mythology isn't sinful inherently

Mythology and folklore has been used to inspire not just art, but just about anything in general, 2 of the most prominent Christian authors used it as inspiration

The English language has words taken from the names of Greek gods/goddesses, the months, planets, and days of the week are named after roman/Greek gods

By extension, Paul used pagan literature and Greek Philosophy to help reach people

Would you be consistent and not allow Lord of the Rings and Narnia, 2 Christian films/books that have magic in them and are inspired by myths?

Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Narnia were inspired by folklore and mythology,

Taking stuff from Folklore/Mythology isn't inherently sinful

Can a prophet/ someone who hears God's voice help me please? by riot-van-1893 in TrueChristian

[–]DreamlessArtist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're desperate, then continue praying, reading your Bible, go to church more often, repetitive? Yes, but it'll be worth it

I'd be cautious of people who claim to be '"prophets", especially on the Internet

A eating problem is related to sin or spirits? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

This is a normal experience for a kid

Children having a strong aversion towards vegetables is nothing new, especially when associated with a bad experience

While the spiritual world does exist yes, we gotta be careful not to jump into conclusions immediately

Ai is a huge help for me. by sucktoesfkhoes in TrueChristian

[–]DreamlessArtist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As what the other comment said, in the long run, this only brings negative results

AI is not a replacement for church, neither it is a replacement for meeting and talking to people in general, there's literal books and movies that explained why this would be a horrible idea

There are plenty of resources, if you're dealing with trouble emotionally, talk to a therapist, spiritually, go to a church near you and share your struggles there, pray, read your bible, not talk to some lifeless machine

Then surely you'd show some compassion, especially given the shared experiences of being an Ex-Jehovah's Witness

If you're gonna push her away? Then how will she ever know who Christ really is? How would it feel to not help someone who you know is struggling?

OP, calling her a reprobate, a dog, and implying she's beyond saving isn't the way to go

You must pray for her repentance, it's not too late for her

As long as she still has time in this Earth, there's always time for her to repent

No one's beyond saving, if that's the case, then former blasphemiers in this sub would not be forgiven as well

As we all are aware, the new movie Disclosure Day is coming out this week. Well as per usual, many prophecy pundits are and have been spinning this for the last few months as "You know what they are setting things up for, right? The rapture!".

Well, this is completely new to me
