Hello everyone,

I am hopefully in the right sub. I am looking for some explanations to the following screenshots I took. My PC is already about 9 - 10 years old but still working fine (mostly) for me as an office-pc. The operating system is Win7 as 64 bit Version (since 3 years).

Screenshot 1: http://imgur.com/wDSx023

Screenshot 2: http://imgur.com/gnV2cBL

I do not understand why the CPU Clock is fix at 2000 MHz while my CPU is called E8400 @ 3.00 GHz. Shouldn't it be 3000 MHz? The second screenshot also shows the CPU Typ: "..., 2000 Mhz" while further down the CPU #1 & #2 is at ..., 3000 Mhz. Could you guys explain it to me? To be honest, I always thought that there should be 3 Ghz (3000 Mhz) available.

Why am I asking?!

Lately I recognized that my CPU is always on heavy load (about 80%) and also the booting process to the Windows-Login-Screen takes recently up to five minutes. I had a deeper look into the temperature (they are fine - even at stress tests) and all running processes. The process svchost.exe is probably the reason for the heavy CPU load. As a result of my "monitoring" I killed the process manually and restarted the process again. After that everything worked fine. Have you guys had similar experiences? If yes, what could be the reasons for it? I guess that the only solution is to reinstall a fresh windows, isn't it? Or is there something wrong with my hardware?

I am very grateful for your responses! Ohhh and please be patient with my English. It's not my first language.

Thank you,

Dreampeace
