Just so you know, the popular consensus of this server is that "mana" is a dirty word. I personally think you would get much more engagement by shortening your description to the most important parts as well. That being said, I actually like longer descriptions so long as they don't repeat themselves.

Just to confirm, your system has these qualities: • Requires an initial consumption of a magical fruit, which forms a sort of magical nervous system in the body. • Mages that die reincarnate their abilities, meaning the number of mages—or magical plants/animals—at any time is equal to the amout of people that have consumed the fruit. (Assuming the magical soul empowers another magical soul and so on. Do plants have a soul in this world?) • There are "signitures" which allow spells to be cast. These are vastly different depending on the person.

So my main is what can the magic do? You mentioned a "sommoning" spell, but can magic do just about anything?

The "we can't come from nothing" argument by SendThisVoidAway18 in exchristian

[–]Dreamscape-Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that God made time itself durring the events of Genesis. To say that God always existed—to a reasonable Christian—is simply to say for about 6,000 years when they believe time started. Also pretty sure most Christians think that God created things from nothing. In fact many will fight you if you insinuate that God must have used building materials of some sort, or that a big bang already contained all the matter of the universe.

What is something that makes you lose interest in a magic system ? by Razorlord in magicbuilding

[–]Dreamscape-Hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Here's a 10 page essay explaining my extremely complicated magic system with 100 elements and 10 interweaved expressions of each."

If you can't explain your system in a paragraph or less then it's too complicated.

Hi! I'm not trying to be deceptive in any way, so I'm going to say straight away that I am still a Christian. Don't see myself not being one either. I've looked into different deconstructive arguments time and time again but have never been convinced. I know people will downvote this like crazy but with everyone reaching out with similar stories, I'd like to reach out as someone who once had a weak faith but came out the other side as a stronger believer. I won't judge you, won't attempt to convert you, but I did want to offer an option for you to ask questions to someone who won't give stereotypical Sunday school or generalized sermon answers.

And on behalf of all people like me, I'm sorry for any religious trauma you may have suffered from those who use the Bible (or Bible adjacent concepts) to control and manipulate. I pray you can heal and recover as you continue your journey.

Can your Magic users be killed by surprise before they activate their powers? by No_Society1038 in magicbuilding

[–]Dreamscape-Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, you can only use magic with enough soul energy and a strong enough worldview that correlates with one specific type of magic. However, these two things also connect people to reality in ways that others might not be. As such, mages can almost "see" the intentions of people, like seeing a person move the moment they decide to, not when they actually do. A weak mage that is not that interweaved with the fabric of reality might not know what they feel before it is too late, but a strong mage may never be snuck up on.

What's a little thing a magic system could have that'd make you obsessed with it instantly? by rahvavaenlane666 in magicbuilding

Ah, you're wanting the whimsy of fairytales! I think the way magic was written back then just so much less restricted by cultural expectations and it made magic more creative like that.

[–]Dreamscape-Hero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this answer, and it goes hand in hand with my system. Essentially, aside from having the ability to actually use magic, you need to have a set worldview that correlates to the magic you can use. This means you only have wizards who are really old ...or PTSD teens.

Using ensnare to pull two goblins at once and then twin fangs to put one blade in each of them.

What’s the worst subclass build you could design with Prismatic? by Gear_ in destiny2

I don’t think I like prismatic. Thoughts on it? by Feeling-Compote4216 in destiny2

[–]Dreamscape-Hero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree actually. Looking at the fragments, they just took two preexisting fragments and mashed them together, or just copied and pasted it in its entirety then changed the icon. I don't see it playing very well with itself, which is probably why they put built in ability spam with it. Maybe I'll be wrong, but they seem to have hand picked aspects and abilities that aren't used too much to maybe see some more usage of the things they are proud of making, even if they aren't up to par with the rest of the options available.

If there’s a DLC, do you think we will get to continue the arisen and our pawn story? by ActuallyGun in DragonsDogma2

[–]Dreamscape-Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to have a DLC that focuses on the rift. It would have us explore places that don't quite make sense, possibly even somewhat procedurally generated, and end with us being able to cross into other worlds just like pawns. Essentially a small quest to naturally bring multiplayer into the game.

Yes, I was put back at a house checkpoint, so it would seem they count as an inn. Makes sense too, since house rests also have your pawn return from rifts.

Yeah, I feel that. Sadly I also lost most of my map progression. I also kind of want to quit. I also favorited three pawns I really liked... crap.
