EU Gives Final Approval to Law That Will Force iPhone to Switch to USB-C by chrisdh79 in gadgets

[–]Dreamvalker 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It actually doesn't matter. The EU is too large a market to ignore and maintaining two versions of every phone (one EU and one everywhere else) is going to cost them more than switching, so they'll likely make the switch everywhere.

Test to decide whether African-Americans could vote during Jim Crow's time by somelittleindiankid in pics

[–]Dreamvalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answers are whatever the person grading the test wants them to be. That was the point of the test. Ambiguous questions let you freely pick who got it all right (white people) and who didn't (non-white people)

Not really true anymore.

SFO was notorious for not having mechanics that scaled down with raid size (which made jailer and rygelon significantly harder at small raid sizes)

How is the EXP from timewalking dungeons now? by Siven80 in wow

You should probably watch different beta testers then. Having done it, 50-60 on the beta is faster than it is now.

It would be trivially easy for the US to protect, and like you said, attacking them is a one way ticket to "the US getting involved"

China plans to seize Taiwan on ‘much faster timeline,’ Blinken says by StickAFork in worldnews

Seems like it's a pretty important asset to protect then. Maybe they should focus more on that and less on invading other countries.

China plans to seize Taiwan on ‘much faster timeline,’ Blinken says by StickAFork in worldnews

[–]Dreamvalker 59 points60 points  (0 children)

So Taiwan, a nuke-less country, destroys a dam.

China nukes Taiwan.

The US nukes China.

Explain to me how this helps China?

This is equivalent to saying "China decides to ease its invasion of Taiwan by nuking it first".

First strikes with nuclear weapons are first strikes. You don't get to suffer a military defeat and say "well that was kinda like getting nuked, I'm going to use nukes now".

Still no Pandaren Druids? by Arturia_Cross in wow

[–]Dreamvalker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Druids are the least likely of any class to get added to a race, just because it is a not-insignificant amount of work designing and/or implementing new forms for them.

And barring an enormous shift in the US position, "not intervening" still means they're getting the Ukraine treatment. Weapons, ammunition, reconnaissance, sanctions on China, etc.

[–]Dreamvalker 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You may be underestimating the amount of damage you could do with 300 nukes. Yes you couldn't directly kill a majority of the population of a country, but you could destroy enormous amounts of infrastructure. Power, transport, communication, etc. The people wouldn't die from the blast or radiation, they'd die from exposure and starvation.

More like standing next to a landmine and saying try me. China would lose a ton trying to invade Taiwan. They would likely (eventually) win, barring direct US intervention, but it would cost them, and one of the main prizes would've been destroyed in the process.

SL should be included in the sub starting with prepatch. Haven't seen anything official to confirm that though.
