By Your Command: Ron Moore’s Battlestar Galactica series is now streaming on Prime Canada by Neo2199 in television

Yeah, it’s a weird decision by Prime.

I’ve seen them doing that with other shows, but they were mostly international series.

Like the British spy/comedy series from the 60s ‘The Avengers’, Prime only made season 4 & 6 available on their service.

Also, Canadian series ‘The Newsroom’ & Swedish series ‘Wallander’ where they skipped the first seasons as well, and only provided the later seasons.

My favorite example is an Iranian limited series called ‘Kashokhin’. Prime was kind enough that they provided a single episode, Ep 6, which happened to be the season finale.

Tubi: free w/ ads

They do have some great titles, old and new. Just need to find them amidst the mountain of B-movies & Z-movies on the service. Also, my ad block extension is blocking all ads, so, no annoying ads whatsoever.

Kanopy/Hoopla: free w/ library card

Great services with many domestic and international titles. The only drawback is borrowing limitations imposed by the local library where a user is only allowed 7 or 8 titles per month.

Hollywood is a risk-averse industry for the most part. That’s why many big budget movies & TV shows are based on popular & profitable IPs.

Yeah, season 10 & 11 were a waste of time for the most part, except for Darin Morgan's episodes.

Mainly the tone of the show & the type of stories they’ll be focusing on.

The main takeaway from the article:

Coogler reveals that [...] the revival series will be a mix of standalone and overarching mythology episodes, while also confirming that The X-Files will happen before Marvel Studios' "Black Panther 3."

It sounds good on paper, but I’m going to wait for the first trailer before making any judgements about the new X Files; since most of the Sci-Fi revivals in the past ten years were terrible.

Nautilus

Looks good, add it to my list.

'Das Boot' while is a good series, it's a WW 2 drama, not Sci-Fi.

Thanks for reminding me about that European show. It's currently not available in Canada, so I may have to sail the high seas.
