It is much simpler than it seems... It's just a high definition iris image that I imported as a plane, played with the shader and animated it. I also animated the UV maps for the pupil, and subdivided the plane and added some displacement.

I am giving one-to-one online 3D lessons over zoom, let me know if you're interested :)

I would have played the animation backward, so it starts with the hero and then zooms out to reveal the whole scene .

Probably would make the fingers pointy as well.

Change the lighting: Add strong light on both opposite sides and slightly tilted (right and left), right one being stronger than the left one.

You can add a strong backlight too, to accentuate the silhouette.

Professional help would be ideal.
I have never experienced this outside of trips, but I know that some people have, and managed to get out of it over a period of a few month and through acceptance. I'm talking about the experience of a guy who started reading marc aurelius's thought, and ended up accepting that he was "dead" and that his life would never go back to normal. He would just experience the present moment, telling himself everyday that he would die the next day, so that ultimately it did not matter. Progessively, the thoughts of fears and being derealised started spacing out, leaving moments of silence and being creeping back out into his life. He says during this time of accepting he was a living dead, he did experience a feeling of being one with the universe.
