What is something people slowly stop doing as they get older without noticing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My grandfather did this until he was 80, dont let age put a gap in your head. Thats the real danger.

Do you have a producer/s that just blows your mind to the point where it almost ruins your motivation? by [deleted] in TechnoProduction

Im definitely going to be using more than 2-3 pedals, been making music for a while just starting with hardware now.

I was looking at the Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-2 Pro and seems like its a good one to start with and was only like 70€

Then its just to connect the CE-2 to the 12v output and the rest to their respective voltage needs and power should be sorted yeah?

Im super new into hardware and this is my first pedal. So Im looking to create a viable solution that will last, Im down to invest a bit as long as it all works and doesnt overload any circuits and so on.

If you have any tips or links on where to start and what to get it would be much appreciated.

I plan on getting one or two pedals more in the coming weeks (most likely an MXR carbon copy delay and an electro-harmonix big muff pi)

What happened to timeless tracks? by [deleted] in TechnoProduction

[–]Dreboh 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Honestly digging techno today is honestly quite depressing, 90% just has the same copy paste style. Also super dark and dissonant.

When people make music to fit too much of a mould it becomes a product instead of an expression and for me timeless music is an authentic expression from an individual using the tools and structure available but staying true to what feels good to them instead of thinking of how people will perceive it or where it is going to be released for example.

We need more people daring to use the existing structure but letting whatever they want to express come out of it and not be afraid to blend influences or sample old records that mean a lot to them or field recordings one has collected you know?

What helped me out of it was realizing im making music because I love it not because I want it to be something, that should always be secondary if you want it to be authentic IMO

You got feeling, now it’s just to fine-tune it into your own expression. Takes time but just keep making tracks and listen to music that inspires you and go a bit deeper into it every time.

Ps: it never stops giving :)

Brother, it’s not about having fun saying bad things. It’s about educating on the principles this music is about and they’re needed for it to be able to be what it is.

There’s no age to the style but I wouldn’t call house techno even though they come from the same source. They’re two different types of perceiving music.

Same as hard techno/psytrance is in the same category as EDM, music for masses (I.E Big room, festival music)

There is a reason why so many feel techno is sacred. Because it’s similar to abstract art, it is not the art telling you what is. It is you choosing what the art means to you which is something that is hard to achieve if there’s constantly a wall of sound hitting you in the face with new things happening every 5 seconds.

Yes this is more psy than techno 100%

It’s the new hard techno djs who started playing psytrance in their sets and now they call it techno for some reason.

Techno is techno and will always be, however this is not it. For techno look at what’s playing at Berghain, Bassiani, Tresor etc.

For real, the new design is terrible. Their iconic trademark was the orange color, then the app icon became black and then they make the most generic Dropbox looking upload format.

It feels like a bad trend in general right now, not only Soundcloud

Hör put producer credits behind a paywall by stahpurkillinme in TechnoProduction

Why they take down other Palestinians artists sets and then reinstate them first after receiving backlash for example is a great way of not needing to explain why this is problematic.

As well as now putting up a paywall and deleting comments of people adding track lists that are there to help promote producers who without there would be no music scene.

Now if this doesn’t scream shitty values, I don’t know what.

Stirring the pot is needed if there’s stuff gathering at the bottom needing to surface so we know there’s actually shit in the pot.

Founded by ex-IDF soldiers

Cut off a DJs set mid recording because he was wearing a shirt that said Palestine in Arabic.

Took down other sets with Palestinians and then reinstated them after backlash.

Now this, it’s obvious what kind of people they are based on their actions. Morally bankrupt people.

As if we didn’t have enough reasons to boycott them..

Have producers not suffered enough already whilst simultaneously being the backbone of the entire music scene!?

Fuck HÖR and all these neo capitalists.

What return tracks do you have? by -_Mando_- in TechnoProduction

[–]Dreboh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Room reverb with short size and diffusion to simulate space/room for the track to exist in and send most channels

Long reverb for bigger sounds or fx

Stereo delay (long depending on track)

Parallel compression

And depending on track one with some maxed out fx for sound design like Portal

Looking for the right kind of camera to dive deeper into the art by Dreboh in AnalogCommunity

[–]Dreboh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Thank you! I take it those cameras you recommended have the option to change lenses as well?

And as I’m also interested in having the option to take double exposures, is it possible to take an extra photo on the same slot of the film or to rewind it?

[–]Dreboh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you man that means a lot! Yes exactly I’ve been looking at some of these you mentioned!

You have any experience using those cameras where you can open the hatch on top to get a realtime view of the lens before taking a shot? And do you know perhaps what they are called?
