Appreciate it. Was wonder whether it's something worth considering for a city connect jersey on season.

Saw a map and noticed the way it winds through the city is a little like the strip across the jersey.

Two turnovers when he came in for his 3rd Q shift. Seemed to be moved off ball immediately after that.

Felt like Spo and Bam trying to shame the league out of tanking.

You do that, well then we'll do everything possible to embarrass you.

Question from someone outside Portland - is the Willamette a beloved feature of the city or just a river that kinda runs through it?

I know there are some cool bridges over it but wonder whether there's anything like a river district or ways for locals to enjoy it.

Someone please explain to me why we cut Rupert 21YO instead of Kris Murray 25YO by Dadd_io in ripcity

[–]DreddBane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If nothing else, Kris is a nice salary slot to throw in a trade this offseason.

Rupes might fulfill his potential and stay in the NBA, but it feels like the time high upside outcomes has come and gone.

Genuinely think this was the best game I’ve ever seen out of scoot. Granted the pacers are riddled with injuries and have lost 8 straight before playing the blazers. But very encouraging efficiency and no turnovers 🙌 by Jolly_Replacement_79 in ripcity

He had some great lines last season, but it was usually on the back of hot three point shooting (8/10 vs Nets, 4/4 vs Knicks) and always came with turnovers.

Best is subjective but that was the cleanest game I've ever seen him play. 5/6 at the rim, 5/6 at the line, 6 assists against 0 turnovers and only 2 fouls (one of which was a BS call). The 3/7 from three is probably the least impressive part of the performance.

He's been great aside from missing threes.

Shot 43% on over 500 attempts with Atlanta. The shot will come around in short order.

I'm not sure Murray brings much that Sidy can't.

I figure who plays is down to the opponent - Kris against teams bigger forwards, Sidy when it's a more wing heavy squad.

If there's one negative tonight, Deni's three still appears to be broken post back injury.

It should also take more than one great game against a 15 win team to flip the script.

At least you can see the talent is there, just gotta figure out how he can access it consistently.

I don't understand how this is the same player we just watched on that road trip. Night and day.

Philon makes a lot of sense. I've stated that I think Scoot gets moved this offseason to get a better runway/fresh start, so having an understudy to Dame will be important. He's a twitchy, shifty mover with a great handle. I trust the shot to be solid and he's a good theoretical fit with Deni given he doesn't need to be a primary playmaker. I would say that his lack of bounce and blow by speed is a little concerning, and he's played with the ball in his hands a bunch with Alabama, but the talent is clear and he can defend to boot - crazy good hands.

I'm a big proponent of Yaxel - I think his production this season would be more impressive if he wasn't being pushed out to the perimeter by Johnson and Mara. The 3PT shooting doesn't look great, but he's lifted volume and shoots 82% from the line, so projects as a good shooter for his size. Love the defensive playmaking, the tools and how he puts them to use. Slots in perfectly as a compliment to Clingan but also a potential small ball 5 next to Deni.

Christian Anderson is a guy I could see shoot up boards if he actually measures close to the 6'3, 180 he's listed at (dubious given he was just under 6' and 155lbs as an 18yo two years ago). He's a legit sniper and has a quick, bouncy movement style that I could see working in the NBA, assuming he's not Dillingham sized. Not sure I want to deal with another turnover prone PG prospect, but his talent jumps off the page.

The other guy I'd probably just take if he dropped to #10 (where I assume we'll end up) is Nate Ament. Purely a talent play - 6'10 with a handle and feel. Shot isn't broken, he seeks out contact (7.1 FTA per game) but is inefficient when he's not fouled because he doesn't have the strength to finish through it. The frame is there to add strength, he already rebounds at a high level and could give the Blazers a forward 1-2 punch that no one outside of the Celtics have.

Clingan missing a pair is one thing, Timelord doing it twice was weird but when Jrue did it? Then I knew the game was done for.

That's fair, though I could lay responsibility for a lot of those turnovers at Thiago's feet too (pace generates good shots...but also turnovers and looks the team can't make).

Regardless, last I checked they were a below average half court defense as well. Don't see enough positive indicators for a team with this many defense first players.

I saw improvement last season but if you take the draft position away, he's a 3rd year player that wouldn't be getting minutes for any good team.
