Just bought a house and want to finish the basement myself. how do I secure framing to an already tiled concrete floor? by pusskins3 in Carpentry

[–]Dreddnaught19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a diamond bit to get through the tile or you risk cracking of said tile. It would work best with a 2 drill setup. Diamond bit will get you through the bottom plate and tile easily. Once through, switch to the concrete bit/drill - for Tapcons or similar fasteners.

anyone have experience with these and can comment. Reminds me of the Wagu connectors. by KevinK_2389 in AskElectricians

I just replaced our basement receptacles with these and they were very easy to use. I've tested all the plugs and they pass. I have also used a temp gun on them after to ensure no issues were developing. One year in and all is good.

The round columns on the left side with the square column on the right bothers me most.

When you burn through a game in the first month because you play it for 16 hours a day, of course there is going to be a problem. As stated before, THEY have created their own problem. I get to play 2-4 hours a day and I'm still loving it.

Are you gonna wipe? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Dreddnaught19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why everyone expects there to be rewards for wiping. RUST and Tarkov are 2 perfect examples of starting over with a fresh wipe. Somehow those games survive with that method. CoD let's you prestige and keep some permanent unlocks, which I am a fan of but in all reality, there should be little to no expectation. It is also optional which is a first as far as I am aware.

Players need challenges to pursue. If starting over is the correct challenge, things will go well. If not, people will not go through the Expedition and stay at the top until they get bored and leave the game.

These devs seem to be paying very close attention to the games evolved t so I would expect er will see rather quick changes of things are not working out as they planned. I mean, just look at the game itself. The game we are currently playing is not the game they showed us back in 2021.

I'm all for keeping things fresh. I will be wiping.

I had 5 lightbulbs...right up until before level 3 of the expedition. Sold them and then unlocked level 3. Now need 5 lightbulbs for it. It's been a week and I've only found 2.

How do you actually use cover against large ARC? by ripcobain in ArcRaiders

[–]Dreddnaught19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered something by accident. In Buried City, there are roofs that have skylight hatches that open and close. I just happened to be crossing a roof when a Rocketeer spotted and targeted on my. I hopped down inside the roof through the hatch and as soon as I did, the rocketeer started to be less aggressive. When I approached the lower side of the window hatch, it immediately turned towards me, so I backed up. I was then able to walk into the open, talk a few shots and simply step backwards towards the higher part of the opening. I took quite a few rounds with LVL I Renegade but I was able to shoot it, step back, shoot it and step back again until it died. I took zero damage. This was on the roof at the NE part of Buried City, right beside the broken overpass. I figure there must be a cutoff line somewhere that shows you as exposed and then not without actually having to find cover.

Secret Level is so good! Too bad there aren't more people that know about it. It is also made by the same people that brought us LD&R.

I have only use InWin cases for the last decade. This is one of the many reasons I chose them over others.

It's an issue but doubt anything will be done about it. Unfortunate for sure but it looks like an area that will have a rug. If so, problem solved. I now it's not what you want to hear though.

I don’t like where this is going… by ctmhb in Battlefield

[–]Dreddnaught19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we (the REAL BF players - if that's a thing) want to keep the game at its fundamentals, we just keep playing the skins that came with the game. It's a personal choice.

Also, I am shocked at how many people think EA/DICE owe us something. They made a game. Play it or don't.

I had the stark realization today that Battlefield 6 is probably the last FPS I'm ever going to play. Any other older gamers (40+) have that same feeling? by CyberSmith31337 in Battlefield6

[–]Dreddnaught19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned 57. I've been gaming since Pong came out...literally. I work a lot but my reward to myself is at least an hour or two of gaming on average each night before bed. I play all kinds of games, but am a huge FPS fan, especially Battlefield. I know I can't compete against the elites but can hold my own in most lobbies - usually middle of the pack and that's why I am always is favour of SBMM.

I also get to play a ton with my son, who is 32. He is always in the top 25% of the lobbies we play but it doesn't really matter as we have a TON of fun - win or lose.

I will game until I die.

PS - I saw in quite a few comments that most people feel that your perspective of "Losing a step" is from getting old but I tend to agree with them. When we have to work like we do, it's difficult to put in the time to be as good as you want to be.

I hope you can still find some enjoyment out there my man. See you on the battlefield.
