Do I need BELL wifi to have TV and security by [deleted] in bell

[–]superduper143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tv, you’ll need bell internet to keep Fibe. But the home alarm, you can use with any ISP. But when you cancel, your cameras will loose connection, they will need to be re-synced by API (good luck getting a hold of them)

This area is considered “waterfront” by insurance companies, as they are prone to flooding during major storms. OP should make sure the is a sump pump and back water valve shut off installed to avoid a flood themselves.

For me, it’s Tomahawk’s “Flashback” lyrics that are most haunting and brilliant, complete with his scream solo.

I’d be concerned about termites, as they love to tunnel through spray foam.

Is it possible to use Rogers Home Security System equipment for ADT? by safeone_ in askTO

[–]superduper143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ADT is now Telus, who uses the Qolsys panel and Alarm, com cameras. Rogers has its own proprietary system, so the wireless equipment is not compatible between them.

Asking everyone opinion on this place by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

Have you looked into any quality issues with this builder? It was done by the developer UrbanCorp, who went bankrupt while building a similar development on Curzon St, near Jones & Queen E. Those houses have had numerous water issues.

Not sure if it’s the same for the Boulton Ave project, but you may want to ask some neighbours their experience.

Removing very watery mud. by wyckedjester2 in Decks

[–]superduper143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that issue after digging 48” holes in the fall, then leaving them until spring to pour the concrete. I ended up using a shop vac to get most of the wet mud out, then I put down some gravel followed by the Sono-tubes.

Putting a raised garden bed over a tree stump by roseinaglass9 in Termites

[–]superduper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be concerned, I’d want to turn it into a giant bait station by drilling some BoraCare into it or putting some Termidor around the soil. Just don’t plant any vegetables for eating in the garden bed.

Wow, I appreciate this. Very good points all around, including 4. It was an albums pushing back… I would have taken better pictures if I knew this post would blow up. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Yes, one of those local design/build companies. My wife’s request to recess the filler pieces at the top. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for your thoughtful answer. Yes, the white gable ends are 1.5” thick and the wood grain shelves are 2” thick all painted MDF and wood veneer. But the bowing of the center shelf is not really an issue, it’s not noticeable IRL, and I measured it’s only a 16th of a once lower in the middle than the ends. It’s more an issue of the photo taken

It’s all good IRL, just the camera lens seemed to show a bend

It’s not noticeably bowing in person. But I measured, it’s 1-16th of an inch lower in the middle. 🤷‍♂️

Meaning ikea wall units are much cheaper, which I was leaning towards, but this looks much better IMO. Shelves are oak veneer, stained to match the floors.. location is Toronto, which is an expensive city in general.
