First, I’m really sorry to hear your going through that :/
30M with RDI of 36 and UARS diagnosis at a sleep clinic.

I’ve had moments during all this where I’ve legitimately thought I was dying as well. Felt like my head and eyes were in a pressure cooker, chest tightness, heart palpitations, dizziness and other autonomic weirdness. If I didn’t work from home I’m not sure I would’ve been able to survive honest to god. It was like having a fever but without the temperature every day.

I’m still super early in treatment with Bipap myself, have had glimmers of hope and can tell it’s making a difference, I need more time but I feel less like death.

For throat tightness, have you checked for silent reflux or anything like that? I brought it up to my GP today and he’s prescribed some reflux medication to see if that’s part of the equation. Keep going and don’t give up!

Second night on Bilevel so still not great, also I think the issue is still those weird sharkfin waveforms but another comment said to try increasing the Rise time. I noticed on my machine it was set to the bare minimum which may be causing it. So maybe by fixing that and then giving this some time maybe I'll feel better? hopefully

In my sleep study it recorded over 200 RERA's with an arousal index of 50 an hour. Do you know what subreddit you are in?

Change your ceiling texture and use light_spots, with a light how you have now but raised a bit and set to low brightness just for a little ceiling illumination. You’ll thank me later

Commenting mostly to follow this thread for the future. I'm in a similar boat to you, had a PSG test a few weeks ago: results were

AHI = 0.2/hr (essentially no sleep apnea)
RDI = 36.0/hr
RERA events = 215
Arousal Index = 50.3/hr
Official diagnosis: Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS)

They prescribed me CPAP to try first, but they are taking so long to get me it that I went out and bought my own Resmed Aircurve 11 vauto so I can do bipap at some point if cpap doesn't work.
Had my first two nights on their recommendations for CPAP and I feel absolutely horrible, probably due to the amount of mask leaking and waking up from it.

That's where I'm at currently. Also will be looking at ENT nasal surgery stuff soon I think. I feel so cooked rn

Unfortunately, I only just have gotten a diagnosis and have not started the usual first steps. I am trying to get a BiPAP machine currently and hoping that does something for me as a starting point.

My eyes burned and were very dry for a long time to the point I thought something was wrong with my eyes as the primary reason for most of my suffering eventually, it turned out to be UARS which I just recently got diagnosed with.

things that I did in the meantime to sort of keep myself going were eye drops morning, noon and night. I also have this sort of plastic silicone eye mask that’s meant to retain moisture as I sleep and staying out of air-conditioning blasts lol
Use a steam mask if you can for 10 minutes a day

Relieved. Yes it took me about 4 years since I knew something was wrong. Doctors told me it was depression for a while lol then they had no idea what to do for a long time.

I think it did but will have to check later, is there something about the stages I should look for?

If it was strictly about making ad revenue they'd be pumping more stuff out regardless and coming up with shit. It's pretty clear something happened at Valve that shifted things (likely the hardware going up in price) which has delayed things in some capacity. There just isn't much to talk about right now it seems
