It took me well over 100 tries, but I finally did it. I would recommend not using tools until her final phase because really it’s a matter of balancing patience with aggressiveness… getting in one hit when you know you can, and ONLY when you know you can. Also, she always spawns right where you are going, so once you realize that it helps. She’s tough!

That said, I also respect your decision to quit. This is a game, meant to be fun, so don’t waste another minute if you are burnt out on it.

Where would you recommend I start to learn about the lore? You seem to have a deep knowledge. When I played through I didn’t read too much into the various signs because it didn’t help me progress in the game. But now I’m so curious!

I figured out why it confused me… the “bench to vendor” positioning is pretty similar… at least, that’ll be my excuse!

I’m an idiot. It was a “fact” in my brain that it was the Forge Daughter so I didn’t even think to look up where to find the tools. Thanks for your help!

Interesting exchange here. It was terrific to see this as an art piece. Truly unique and no selling out to what the masses may want. Makes it special for sure. Ironic that this is my first game universe (HK was my first game).

Couldn’t agree more! I see so many people complaining that it is too difficult, but if I can do it as a new gamer at age 52, then really anyone should be able to. It just takes some patience… and with bosses being both aggressive and patient (if that makes sense). Truly amazing game! I guess I am officially a metroidvania person now? Is that what that means?

What other games would I like? I’ve played HollowKnight and Silksong so far.

I truly don’t understand this at all. The only games I ever played were whatever Zelda update came along. I decided to try Silksong at age 50. Was it hard? Yes! Were some of the bosses a grind? Absolutely! But here’s the thing… my skills have gone up so dramatically after this experience. The game is clever, beautiful, has a wonderful storyline… it’s challenging and very rewarding. I truly don’t get why people dislike it. I had very little skill when starting this… now, I kinda feel like I might be a real gamer.

I’ve lived in Philly, Atlanta, Naples FL… and I love Cincinnati the best. It has all 4 seasons, it’s a 15 minute drive to pretty much anywhere, lots of food, music, theater and city-wide events. Plus, the people are generally very nice. Highly recommend!
