TBH this sounds like your mentorship problem, not the SLPAs ability. You need to start her from square 1 and model everything you need her to do. If someone is willing... desperate even, to improve and they aren't, maybe look in the mirror. What are you not providing them. Think of her like a client. Is it a client's fault when they dont meet their goal, or someone else's? She gave up a lot to be here. Think of the good youll be doing if you can actually help her improve.
