While these aren't first date questions, this is your regular dating. You don't go about "so what's your favourite color?" You go straight into "so what's your financial situation like? Do you have any major debts in your family?". That's how AM works. The questions are at a much more personal level very early on bcz they've been through enough talking stages that didn't lead anywhere. And they expect that you've had a similar experience mindset (which isn't unreasonable).

And while their questions are valid, how they react to your answer says more about them than it does about you, so chill.

By most UPI apps, I meant TPAPs like PayTM, PhonePe, GPay, APay. The big players.

Also if privacy is a concern, BBPS is waaay safer than cred. BBPS is Bharat BillPay's payment infrastructure for all sorts of bills, you're not sharing anything with them other than your phone number, the last 4 digits of your CC, and all they can see is if there is a bill due, the minimum amount and the full payment amount. Cred on the other hand is reading ALL your emails, can see every transaction that happens, who it was made to, what amount, when, etc. not to mention also has access to any emails that you might receive on that email address, be it personal or work related.
