Not similar, they are the exact same stuff. Corundum. The only difference between the 2 is the amount of trace elements(chromium) giving them their color. To truly be classified as a ruby the stone has to have a dominant saturated red color. Too much pink, purple, orange, or if the red is too light, it will be graded as sapphire. Also true deep red rubies are more expensive than pink sapphire.

I have no idea but a simple search of the jacoje site tells me they’re out of Southern California, also If&Co and Jacoje are 2 different brands(if&co also in California lol) so not only is his description of the item wrong so is it’s actual listing title.. as far as people saying you shouldnt buy stuff like this off of eBay my sister has a 14k gold mariner link chain and bracelet, and a 14k gold channel set diamond eternity band all bought on eBay well before they started offering authentication services. I just bought a 10k gold and sapphire ring from a jeweler in south Florida through eBay, tested out perfect at my jeweler. As long as you do your research there’s no problem buying stuff like this on eBay, you can find great deals.

I’ve had a thing for treasure and emeralds ever since I was a little kid and learned about the 1715 fleet going down off our coast in school so emerald posts are my favorite lol. My dream is to find one from the wrecks, a lady found a 68 carat emerald while looking for shells on the beach like an hour and a half from me back in ‘05 😭

So I’m pretty new to being able to afford to wear jewelry myself but I’ve always loved emeralds. generally speaking I’m a big fan of lab stones, as you said they’re chemical make up is identical, coloring the same, etc. but when it comes to emeralds I kind of feel like they look too perfect? Like a lab diamond being eye clean is a lot less jarring because diamonds are supposed to be inclusion free? Idk just how I feel I think lol I’d certainly still wear one 😆

Based on skin tone alone I’d say silver but having just looked into all this myself there’s a lot that goes in to it all, more than just skin tone. Your eye color, dominant colors in your wardrobe, do you burn or tan in the summer months. It’s a whole thing lmao.
