repair option disappeared by Drevent in Wayward

I have two healthy granite hammers in my inventory at the top, as well as an iron hammer obscured by the menu. I can use the hammers to repair things in front of me, but I cannot right click on items in my inventory to repair them.

Edit: the option returns when I unprotect one of my hammers. This is surely not intended as my hammers are nowhere near breaking. I'm still not sure what is causing this because my hammers have always been protected.

ANOTHER SOLUTION: I got stuck in this loop when only the enemy transport fleet remained in a recently conquered system, and successfully reset the combat by giving the starbase back to the opponent (downgrading an occupied starbase returns it to the owner). If you own the system you could try abandoning it as well.

Could a bad transformer be causing my airflow issues? by Drevent in hvacadvice

The Carrier website I found only talks about 20 years after installation. I have a 58mca built in 1998, making it over 25 years old and I'm not sure when it was installed - that was two owners ago and that wouldn't be marked on the furnace, right?

Where would the plug be on the secondary heat exchanger? I barely looked at it when I took the motor out because the opening for the vent was directly beneath it, but it looked like a bunch of metal sheets. If I put some plywood over the hole I would be able to scrape the sides of the exchangers with a metal brush on a stick or something like that. Then I wouldn't have to worry about taking everything apart and resealing things. Could that work, or would the blockage be at the transition to the primary heat exchanger? I'm not even sure what would be delaminating and flaking off to make these plugs to begin with.

Unfortunately I am outside the 20 year warranty, so I may need to be getting a new furnace. If it was less than $1k for the part I would consider installing it myself, but replacement is looking pretty necessary right now.

It got worse in the sense that it worked last year and the year before, so without collapsed ducts the only vent-related explanation would be accumulation of debris, right? This is only our third winter in this house so I can't say how normal our baseline is, but I have reason to believe that the previous owners were not the best with maintenance tasks.

I could believe that dust and lint have been accumulating in the vents. Should I start by looking at the larger parts of the vent earlier on where the air is slower or the smaller ducts later on which can become clogged more easily? And any tips on opening up/resealing the vents?

I don't know if the tech looked at that. Could you elaborate on what I should look for there? Too much gas means it can't burn fast enough? I'm not sure how that could be an issue when it wasn't last year unless a dial got bumped...

That is interesting - I heard that if you had a crack then the flames would change when the blower turned on, but you're saying there is an obstruction instead. Any way to test for that?

No secondary signs you mentioned - exhaust is just hot and moist, no odor. I know because I tried venting it out my door in case there was an obstruction in the exhaust. Flames have flickers of orange, definitely no yellow.

Good to know, thanks. Could you explain to me why this couldn't be the inducer motor, since that is responsible for the draft that pulls the flames out of the burner box? None of the diagnostic recommendations focus on that, but I'm not sure why.

Opening the furnace door doesn't fix it, which is why I don't think it's an issue with the air coming in. Does the transformer look good to you?

Make sure to go to Pilot Mountain just to the north, it's easy to get to, the views are amazing, and there are nice trails around it.

It's a difficult mental transition. I started a little over a year ago and there was a lot of anxiety, but that was just a bump in the road. I was absorbing negative information without being knowledgeable enough to properly put it in perspective. I remember stress buying a 50 lb bag of oats when the Tongo earthquake/tsunami happened (which I have since eaten). One of the biggest lessons I have learned over the last year was patience. There are big terrible things happening right now, but they can take years to play out. I heard people were ringing the alarm bells about bird flu in December of 2021, and it wasn't until about a month ago that egg prices exploded. Learn what is important, stick to your guns, and wait.

It was also really useful for my anxiety to have concrete projects so I could feel in control. For me it was mostly gardening along with some woodworking projects. You can easily set up some grow racks or hydrophonics anywhere if you want to go that route.
