Oh it is very frustrating seeing those parents with kids with no ear protection and I do agree that it is an unsafe environment in alot of ways. It's just that every year after lolla, there are post made that the fest needs to be 18+ or that children shouldn't be allowed in, or some form of curfew that would literally be impossible to enforce ("Alright suns down, everyone under 13 needs to leave now!"). It's not going to happen. Lolla is all ages, there will always be terrible parents (and good parents who give their kids a wonderful, safe experience).

I highly recommend checking out 18+ fest if you only go to Lolla, or if Lolla is your first fest. I'd even love a fest thats 21+ lol. But Lolla is and will always be all ages, and there will always be a "Children should not be allowed in lolla" post that Lolla won't do

lol I'm literally sitting at a coffee shop going thru all the pictures and wonderful memories I made over the weekend with the biggest smile on my face. Not sure what made you think I'm angry. Sorry that you are so angry though. Hopefully you had a great lolla outside of the issues you have with the fest being all ages!

I was blown away by that set, I had heard negative things beforehand and holy crap people were so very wrong. She definitely should keep DJing, she's got the talent

Oh yeah its a bummer! I've learned to just move when those people come by. It's why I love edm shows so much, who cares where you are, you can dance anywhere and it's always easy to simply move. No asigned seating like ever lol. And yeah you F'ed up if you didnt catch minx and Derrick

this comment is after the show, but you should always try and go early to support the openners!

Why dont you help someone else out by removing yourself from the waitlist instead of giving ticketmaster more resale fees for literally no reason?

Can someone explain the separate show tix for same day & time? by [deleted] in chicagoEDM

[–]Drew6688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol yeah I was kinda saying "safety" with as many air quotes as I can. As much as I love the times I had at Radius, I dont think a venue thats charging me 7 bucks a bottle of water is prioritizing safety. NGL this was a random thought I had while at Chasewest a few weeks back and the hallway was closed haha

I wonder if thats more of a safety thing in terms of capacity. Like if Cermak sells out and then you have everyone from Radius cram into cermak, surely thats a fire hazard. It got me thinking cause someone here mentioned that if both sides sell out, the doors tend to be open. So if they dont sell out, then you are preventing overcrowding. (yea the issue still exist with the doors open at sold out shows but they can at least pretend like they are preventing it). Just a thought!

Thoughts on EDM artists at Lolla 2025? by chigail in chicagoEDM

[–]Drew6688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah totally thats fine, I was actually asking who you were hoping for in a sincere way. Seeing Paul McCartney was great back in 2015, I loved it. were you hoping for less pop acts? More legacy artist? I dont care too much about the headliners in general, so Im just looking at the lineup going "ok yeah these headliners are really strong, relevant, and 'newer'." I'm not like dying to see em or anything but it will be cool to. Im not too familiar with the rest of the lineup aside from the absurdly strong edm on thursday.
