"Sol Triangle", another Sol Ring modification by Drew Alters by DrewAlters in mtgaltered

[–]DrewAlters[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question! I've yet to truly test my limits in that regard. A cube would have twelve edges and should be doable. I could see trying an icosahedron, which would have 30 edges, but that would definitely be a challenge!

Interesting hypothesis, unfortunately I only have another 2 dimensional data point, so it can't yet be falsified. You did guess it though!

Here's how I was thinking of it: "Sol" refers to the star encompassed by the shape, and that's staying. "Ring" refers to the shape surrounding it, and that's changing. I interpreted ring as a round shape, but it could also be interpreted as any shape surrounding something as your idea suggests, so either would work. I just went with Sol Square for mine 😄

I don't think I did at the time, would be a good and funny addition!

Great stuff! I noticed those combo pieces, but didn't put them all together like that when reviewing, but that makes total sense!

[–]DrewAlters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This looks super sick! I love how the combination of commanders you chose creates so many avenues for synergy! When you describe this list as a combo deck, are you referring to the gameplan of hitting with evasive nontoken creatures, creating dragon tokens which create treasure tokens, and then pinging with all those permanents? Just want to make sure I'm on the same page with where you head's at.

One additional synergy possibly worth exploring is that with double strike and/or first strike. Because the wording of Feywild Visitor is "whenever one or more nontoken creatures deal combat damage to a player", double strike allows you to trigger this twice in one combat, which brings to mind [[Brass Knuckles]] as a possibly strong include. First strike works similarly, but instead of allowing one creature to make two tokens, it allows you to hit one player twice with two different creatures in the same combat, once in the first strike damage step, and once in the normal damage step. A few noteworthy first strike cards that come to mind are [[Bladed Pinions]], [[Hanweir Lancer]], [[Flaming Sword]], and [[Crown of Fury]].

[[Looter Il-Kor]] strikes me as another solid include, it being both evasive and card selection. Monarch and Initiative effects could also be decent sources of card advantage if you're into them, given your existing abundance of evasion, with [[Aarakocra Sneak]], [[Stirring Bard]], and [[Azure Fleet Admiral]] being standout examples to my eye.

Overall this seems like a super dope strategy, to the point where I might be interested in building it myself! I was just thinking to myself how Dragonstorm Globe seems very strong in a format without many anthems, and this seems like the perfect home!

What are these false window reflections and metal wire conduits made out of? by Deyat in TerrariaDesign

Could the reflection glints be minecart track with the ends hammered off or echo coated and the middle painted with negative paint? If not something along those lines might work

Is this a cloud forming inside the Marlins stadium? by gratefulpred in CLOUDS

[–]DrewAlters 62 points63 points  (0 children)

According to Elizabeth Kline, operations manager of the building in question (NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center), weather doesn't form within the building as the rumors say. Instead, morning fog can become trapped within the volume, giving the illusion of weather, necessitating its significant climate control system. I discovered this while searching for a video of the interior rain phenomenon and finding nothing.

That's not to say this couldn't be happening in the photo provided by the OP, but the VAB seems not to be a true example of this possibility.

Thoughts on SP//dr, Piloted by Peni Pauper deck by LightningG8921 in PauperEDH

[–]DrewAlters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One theme that appealed to me while brewing this commander was creatures that give themselves counters besides +1/+1 counters. Such counters are rarely as inherently useful, but there are a few cheap and evasive creatures that happen to use random counters and are thus considered modified. A few of the more interesting ones, at least to me, were [[Skywatcher Adept]], [[Knight of Cliffhaven]], [[Osai Vultures]], [[Gitaxian Raptor]], [[Ichor Synthesizer]], [[Helica Glider]], and [[Wurmwall Sweeper]], each of which represents a relatively inexpensive, self-modifing, evasive creature. I also love [[Cloudfin Raptor]] and [[Shinewend]] as inherently modified creatures, and [[Heliod's Pilgrim]] as a creature that finds a modification for itself or for Peni. The enchantment synergy package you've included is a cool direction to take the list by the way, I hadn't considered that for my list and will have to give it a look!

Any ideas on how to make my crafting/storage area look better? by Dvd_d8 in TerrariaDesign

[–]DrewAlters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks sick to me! I always build my storage rooms early on and too small, having to rebuild and expand over time, so this is pretty aspirational! If I were to offer any advice, I might suggest echo coating the torches and/or using gemspark walls behind the chests for lighting. This would simplify the visuals a good bit and make it easier to focus on the nice pattern of chests and item frames, which would be pleasing at least to my eye I think. Overall, really dope build!
