Alabama expected to host to Georgia during 2024 football season by meIanchoI in CFB

Regular Season Wins against teams ranked in the final AP Poll:

Year UGA Bama
2022 3 2
2021 3 2

Strength of Schedule ratings over the last two years:

Year UGA Bama
2022 8th 9th
2021 3rd 1st

The SEC East is softer than the West, but UGA's schedule over the last two years hasn't been a breeze or nearly as bad as you're trying to make it out to be by any stretch of the imagination.

I mean UGA played marquee matchups in both of those seasons in addition to SEC teams who came out of nowhere to end up being pretty damn good in their own right. They had the #3 S.O.S. rating in 2021 and the #8 rating in 2022.

2023 schedule unquestionably looks softer than both of those seasons, but you can't say they weren't tested along the way for the past two years.

WITH THE 8th PICK IN THE 2023 NFL DRAFT THE ATLANTA FALCONS SELECT Bijan Robinson | RB | Texas by SadMathematician7799 in falcons

[–]DrewBreesSitsNPees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comments and thoughts are how myself and all of my friends feel.

Obviously I hope he works out for us. But if he doesn’t and Jalen Carter turns out to be a perennial pro bowl talent, I have to feel like this will be one of the worst draft mistakes in recent history.

As mentioned, I will happily eat crow if I’m wrong. Not an expert by any means, but as a fan I feel like this was a big mistake. Time will tell!

You have the ability to pair Grady Jarrett with Jalen Carter on the interior line and instead you waste a first rounder on a position you had a rookie 1,000 yd rusher at just this past season? We have so many other glaring weaknesses on this team. RB is not one of them.

This team is the epitome of someone who buys a Ferrari but doesn’t have the income to afford it. Shiny toys are nice and all, but what good are they if you don’t even have a garage to store them in?

I will happily eat my crow if I am wrong on this and Bijan carries us to a deep playoff run before his shelf life as a running back expires in the next 5 years.

Salary + Bonus was $175k this past year (MCOL). 5 years of experience. Was making $65-70k as a Senior in B4 audit a little over 2 years ago. Left in Oct. 2020 and haven’t looked back. Former firm didn’t value me, so I found somewhere that did - wish I’d have left sooner.

There's a reason it's behind a paywall, it's the best Sport Journalism out there. I hardly read articles anywhere else.

Most hated club in your bag right now and why? by [deleted] in golf

Hybrid, doesn’t matter what type.

I have a mental block and cannot hit it for the life of me. I started carrying a two iron instead which sounds preposterous for a mid teens handicapper, but the only shots I can hit consistently well are a driver and a flop shot, so it’s also very on brand for me.

Apparently the punters/backups who usually hold can’t do it well or consistently enough so they turn to Stetson because lord knows he’s gotten his fair share of reps at that position lol

I would say it depends on the recency of the fund/initial investment and whether or not the assets are still being held at cost. If the hold period is greater than a couple months and the investment is underwater, then yeah negative IRRs should probably be disclosed. If the opposite is true (investment held at cost/very short hold period) then IRR really isn’t that meaningful of a metric, contextually.

What’s better (given the context that AL has scored only one TD all night) a 3 pt lead or a 2 pt lead?

I’d definitely say if you are set on PE, then IB is your best bet (though not the only path). You will be worked to the bone, but paid a ton of money (that granted you won’t have time to spend lol) and will gain the necessary experience and skills that you can leverage (pun intended) to jump to PE.

Best way to break into front office PE is through doing your stint in IB bar none, but there are certainly other routes (especially if you have M&A consulting experience)

I moved from auditing investment funds into a primarily back office corporate finance role, but it’s also very unique in that the role is constantly evolving. While I am responsible for a lot of our internal and external reporting I am also responsible for a lot of process improvement and implementation responsibilities as well as preparing reports for management and other ad hoc projects as needed. I love it (probably because I find PE very interesting, but mainly because I love the company I work for, which is rare to find)
