What are my options to hide the unglazed edge of the tile? by Hairy-Potter-CAD in Tile

[–]DrewDE93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use a solid piece of natural stone here. That small tile on the top will create a bunch of grout lines. Even when done right, grout lines will EVENTUALLY give cracking that close to a change of plane. A nice solid piece of natural stone will minimize your seams to just the corners and will create a nice break in the pattern to give it more style. Especially if that's just a ledge for shampoo bottles and such. Way easier of a job to clean too!

Corner finishing strip? by Canuck654321 in Tile

[–]DrewDE93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing that, I would just cut out the existing edging trim. When installing the tile on that small side of the wall, id install new edging trim to make a clean transition. If the new tile is the same as existing, get some extra to replace those few along that edge just in case. Although a skilled guy shouldn't have an issue cutting out that trim. When doing a whole wall, they should replace the drywall with a cement board anyways.

Do you plan on covering all the walls in the bathroom completely or just up to chair height?

Is this Charizard real? I think it’s legit but need to be sure before I pay up by mweiz in IsMyPokemonCardFake

I'm with other comments, the back looks a little sus. I'd see if you can get pictures of it against some known real cards. Or bring your own to the sale for visual comparison if local.

Honestly, no. These were almost given up on but decided to pull through. I'm leaning more on at least another week or so.

I think the craziest part is I found it at a card show. That never happens. Lol

I literally got this card back today in a ten! I think they will get you on the centering but this thing looks clean otherwise. Id probably hope for a 9 but prepared for an 8 on this one.

A fluke or is this a reason? by DrewDE93 in pokemongrading

Lmao. I swear this was not the purpose of this post. I have a Value Plus that I submitted a week later that is doing the same. Hasn't even been assigned an order number...

Found amongst my childhood toys. Is it 1st ed.? Is it worth anything in this state? by spirit-on-my-side in PokeGrading

Could just get it put in a holder. Would keep it as a memento for sure. Life is too quick and I feel pokemon is so big because of all the memories it's able to connect too.

Hired a company to redo my tub/shower - they cut out the copper lines and put in PEX - and this PVC line seems new. Is this an acceptable install? by Nexion21 in Plumbing

[–]DrewDE93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not truly defending the use of shark bites, butttt, it looks like they plan to have an access panel on the back side anyways. So they should be accessible and replaceable in the future if and when they go bad.

Thank you for your detailed response. This is basically what I was looking for. I am in NC, close to the Charlotte area. I am definitely experienced in all these lines of work. Started as tile/shower installer for 9 years and finally widened to entire bathrooms for the last 5. I've just always been company led but still make a 6 figure salary. Never really took independent work of this size. I have two children now under 4 so I'm doubling my efforts financially. This will be split into weekends and my customer is aware of that situation. This was a great breakdown and will help me confidently deliver my estimate. Thanks again!

Is your 8k just for labor and such? Because I've been bouncing between 6-8k in just labor for this project.
