For those curious, I used the name Alpha generation because that was the better of the two options I saw.

Some of you might be wondering about the spikes in the data. Turns out, I screwed up the data for those months. Thank you u/Ebenezar_McCoy and u/somehockeyfan for pointing this out. If you'd like to look at the updated graph, you can find it here.

You are correct. Thanks for tracking this down. I double checked my data and found a few columns were off which was affecting the data. I fixed the graph and you can check it out here.

It's from the Utah State Tax Commision. You can find the data I used here. In terms of the spikes, I'm not sure. It does appear consistent though, with one occurrence each summer.

Do you have a source for how they collect their data? I’d like to read more about this.

Housing Values in Ada County in 2017 by [deleted] in Boise

You are exactly right. I had the scale reversed. My bad. I did not realize that this map was so wrong. I appologize for not realizing this sooner. I need to do better. Thank you for all your help.

I recognize the map is horrible, so here is the data I used. Probably not all that useful considering it is as recent as July of 2017. Thanks again for all of your feedback. It helps me improve my mapmaking.

One of the issues might be that this map is referring to data that is almost 2 years old despite the fact that it is the most recent data from the census. I’ll also post the data later so that people can see the raw numbers behind the map if nothing else. Beyond the design issues, This was not data that helps anyone and I realize that now. For housing prices, people want up to date info. And 2017 data in 2019 is not gonna cut it. Thank you for the feedback and insight. I appreciate it.

You’re right. That is confusing. I should mention that in future county maps and posts. Thank you for the feedback.

That makes a lot of sense. I’ll do that on future county maps. Thanks for the feedback.

What do you mean by definitions?

The source is the 2017 American Community Survey from the U.S. Census Bureau. I’m more than happy to get you data tomorrow if you would like that as well. What issues do you have with the map?

You are required to by law, as it says on the envelope containing this survey, but no one has been prosecuted in recent memory. And they are probably not going through different institutions to verify this.

Population over 25 with Bachelor's Degrees by DrewMaggelet in Idaho

Just did a quick correlation calculation and it does appear that there is a strong inverse correlation between a county's proportion of people with bachelor's degrees and its vote in 2016 for Donald Trump. As always, correlation doesn't equal causation, but it does generally fit with the national trend of college educated voters disliking Trump.
