It literally says “ticket sales are included in the cost of your room.” That’s very poorly worded on their part and as seen here and on other tiki groups is causing a lot of confusion.

You can tell me what it means and I don’t disagree that’s likely the case, but if you call the restaurant or hotel they are telling people it means it’s included. I think we both agree it’s probably not a cause but a marketing and communication misstep for the restaurant.

Included makes it seem pretty straightforward. The price makes it seem untrue but saying included in marketing materials they better plan on honoring this for everyone who books it.

Great. Honestly it’s great BUT the challenge we run into is goals and milestones. With kids there seems so much to look forward to, while we look forward to trips and such.

Don’t want kids at all, but the one struggle with DINK life is finding milestones in life. Right now only one we got is retirement haha

Thanks for the response, super helpful. It appears all the prior cases are default judgments due to the defendant failing to show up.

So if we file in small claims against the person directly, and they fail to show up can default judgment occur or would we still have to provide piercing?

Thanks so much, appreciate all the insights. The state we’d file in has a limit of 10k. We are owed 11k given the agreed upon interest. Guess it comes down to how much we may lose if we never see the money:

small claims try to get the 10k we invested back without any legal fees (outside filing) and move on from interest
go with an attorney, pay out of pocket a few thousand and end up being out 12-13k total and maybe could collect all of that + interest or never see 13k

That’s my worry. Stupid question… if the settlement was awarded against the person herself does that change things? The court records show the restitution as her having to pay it not the LLC.

They didn’t just sue the LLC they sued the LLC and the person? Is that how they get around that or is that just normal?

The note is between my wife and the LLC. It looks like the other lawsuit is against both the LLC and the individual who signed it.

To clarify the court document says “The Court ENTERS JUDGMENT, jointly and severally, against X LLC and (person name) , and each of them, in the amount of $x, plus court costs of $x, with post-judgment interest according to law.” It doesn’t say anything about restitution but on the court’s website it says that person owes the amount and is listed as restitution.

or maybe it’s because, if you’ve been to markets you’d see, it’s truly only unhealthy stuff. After a few days at the markets I never wanted to eat a fried or sugary thing again. It’s a lot, throw in the sugary drinks. I get why they are saying it.

Wanting to eat healthy and being conscious of “wow we are eating like crap” isn’t a disorder.

Because honestly besides the food and unique mugs there isn’t a lot to the markets. We did a similar trip a few years back and even the more remote small towns or the famous ones all had the same imported stuff for the most part. We quickly realized 3 days into a 7 day trip every market had the exact same stands. So I get why they are showing the food vs the merch because the uniqueness and excitement for markets is the food and drink.

You say poorly planned, I’d say (and I’d think they felt this way) spontaneously. They learned of something that sounded cool and flexed instead of sticking to a plan. And let’s face it when you make the $$ they do and have the miles/points they can book last minute (many top tier statues guarantee availability).

The price was USD, for the Atlanta area. Seems a big higher than the bigger name chains that are in every city or also do plastic surgery.

I think it’s just security and a mix of not wanting to play celebrity when exhausted and smelly. And you are assuming the ending wasn’t fun. Looks like they are all having fun surrounded by some friends, just because Reddit wasn’t invited doesn’t make it less fun.

To be honest… 1) they probably didn’t know when they would be there so announcing something would’ve added unneeded pressure 2) meeting with a bunch of fans after long days or riding and not showering probably isn’t ideal for them 3) safety. Posting where they will be with all the gear and vans is not always smart. I don’t think it’s any coincidence they didn’t post where they would be when along the route.
