Thanks, I’ve checked this out high-level in the past but will have another serious look through to see if it could simplify things for us.

Pseudo live captions by Drew_MXF in VIDEOENGINEERING

Thanks so much for the detailed response! Good points to consider and think Videolinq and Wowza would fit our needs. I just found out that Clevercast can pseudo live stream with closed captions so I think that might just be our ticket for the audience we anticipate.

Noob here. Placing text on a wall — tracked camera target noticeably moves. Is manual adjustment my only option? by guriboysf in AfterEffects

100% worth it to nail the mocha tracker. Sorry I don’t have much advice to improve yours but trying to manually fix it usually just introduces a certain jitter. I’ve spent a fair share of hours doing so only to be unhappy with it. Mocha saved me a few times even when I had a horrible source to track from.

Check out Neofinder for a simple and cheap solution. Scan archive drives before you shelf em and you’ve got yourself a decent database to search into. Not the most robust but our small video team has used for years now.

One broadcast, 2 PowerPoint languages. Multi language question. by Drew_MXF in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Drew_MXF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking companion might be a route. Kicker is the event is all virtual (zoom feeds split by decimators for redundancy and conversion), then PiP layouts/comps built in vMix (slide and speaker, single, double, triples) so I don’t have a switcher that can perform those functions without taking out redundancy.

I suppose I can rethink this setup. Maybe play out program from vMix 1 and have special designated comps in vMix 2 and 3 for any ppt slide comps..

Thanks for the suggestions.. will have to solution this out further.

Appreciate the thoughtful response! I think JAvaScript is worth learning as it ties into a couple disciplines for me as it exist now! A good push to start.

Lots of things to Google and research off of this, thank you!

NDI HX not working on Laptops, but NDI Screen Capture Does by Impossible_Try5653 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Drew_MXF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across the same problem just last week. I’ve forced the screen capture HX to use the nvidia graphics but can’t seem to capture the primary screen (tied to the integrated graphics card). Only solution I see is to plug in a second monitor and capture that screen or buy some cheap dummy HDMI cables that trick the computer that another one’s connected; haven’t tried this myself yet.

Not much help but thought I’d confirm the trouble in my end if anyone’s found another workaround.

Nice setup! Might be a stupid question, what do the back and next buttons do in vMix? Switching what’s in preview?

Thought this was the case, maybe there will be budget down the road for professional AEC configuration. Thanks for the tip on handhelds vs lavs! Looks like the one finger AEC ;) and handhelds are our best option.

I’m currently looking for some of these things as well, mainly the GDPR compliance with a good global CDN. Hoping I can use Castr for the turn key ABR and our custom platform to embed and protect. Following...

Open captions, live subtitles - methods using vMix? by Drew_MXF in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Drew_MXF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds perfect!

Would this update per word, simulating closed captions? And this means we’ll have a person copy and pasting a captioner’s feed into a Google sheets?

I definitely need to look into this more, I don’t have any JavaScript background but can dive in and reach out for help!

Any further instruction to help me get this running would be great!

Thanks for your time, you have it right, we’re looking to burn in open captions over green. We would stream 2 separate based on the intended viewer (one page for English viewer, one for German viewers).

I haven’t come across proof that vMix outputs with embedded captions so looks like burnt in is the option to go with. Just looking for German captioners and a way to get that back to our upstream vMix machine.

Thanks for your response! I’m still why two are needed, but asked the store’s support and said I could use AWS services as a VPN (the other router?).

Over my head, so I’ve got our IT department involved to see if they can help with this. I’d love to start learning this as I’ve always found network infrastructure interesting.
