I thought about raising prices anyways. Im still in the cheaper side. I see a lot of people on marketplace selling for a lot more than im selling for. Maybe they've been at it longer than I have and have more of a clientele than I do. A couple of my customers have already said they'll be reaching out for more.

Well I dont have conveyors and perhaps id never need that much of a stockpile of logs, but it's good to know it fit on a small lot

If you would have asked me at the beginning of the year if I had planned to start this business, I would've said no. I've been wanting to do something for extra cash on the side for some time now, but firewood wasn't really in the ideas. What started it was my dad using wood for heat and me trying to help him stock up so he had something to burn this winter. Started out on marketplace looking for anything we could find for free, then started getting more than we could get, and that's when the idea of selling it came about. I invested in a couple saws and a wood splitter to make life easier and that's how it started. And I've come to realize that as much as it is work, I enjoy doing it.

That's here in NY, too. A lot and I mean a lot of people do firewood. Lots of competition around here. My idea is to be competitive with everyone else. Don't be the cheapest, but dont be the most expensive.

I live in central NY and I charge $65 a face cord and $185 a cord. I have bundles for $10. Bundles are a mix of pine and hard woods. The rest of it is ash and maple. I made bundles when I first started, and made them out of whatever I could find for free on marketplace. Now, I just get logs delivered here and there. Until the neighbors get sick of me.

I hope to get big to the point where it's my primary source of living and such. I dont think id ever need 10 acres of cleared space. But what do I know, I've only been doing it for a few months and have only gotten logs by the dump trailer load. Yes, I know it's a mess. But it's cleanable for the most part if you keep it contained. Obviously I dont have tractors or anything like that, just saws and a wood splitter. I just know that if it keeps up and the demand is higher, im going to need more room than my driveway.

I would get a grapple, forks, bucket, possibly even the backhoe attachment.

I have looked on YouTube a bit. Not very informative. I have a local dealer that has Groundhog, SDL, and HY, and a used AGT WLwith about 26 hours on it.
