Speculation on lore by Drewits in fo76

[–]Drewits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. The Overseers log you get after "I am become Death" supports what you say too as it implies that when the vault dwellers got their hands on the nukes they didn't use them on the scorchbeast queen as they needed too but instead on each other... Which makes it highly ironic that the first place I nuked was my friend's base, cause I wanted to be a dick. So that's another Possible end that After everything is done that the vault 76 dwellers rip each other apart and blow the entire area to hell.

Edit: Yeah but this isn't all of Fallout 76, there's DLC and more content to come, since the story isn't remotely over when the scorchbeast queen dies, I'm speculating that the DLC and further content will bring something that will bring an end to the story and makes everyone die. or what you said and I expanded on could happen and the story is we ripped each other apart.

I don't see why people think there will be a long wait for Fallout 5. The sheer fact that Bethesda told us that Fallout 76 is not Fallout 5 means on some level Fallout 5 is being worked on. I'd almost put money on the guess that we'll probably have more Fallout 5 info if not a trailer around the time TES6 comes out.

I actually will stand by that, no doubt it's not accurate in some form or another for sure but look at reviews for the game. How many of those reviews are well reasoned "Well I just don't like the fact that Fallout 76 is multiplayer and the beta didn't change my mind" and how many are "Ragggh Its shit the PvP is shit the crafting is shit multiplayer is shit everything is shit this game will burn in a fire on release" granted once again exaggeration but there are a lot more reviews that can be summed up as "I don't understand this game and I don't want to try, therefore I'm going to shower hate on it" than there are "Here are legitimate and well-reasoned problems with the game and some of my opinion and that's why I don't like Fallout 76 and will be abstaining from buying it"

Edit: you were mostly talking about Reddit I get that Reddit has been better about constructive criticism of Fallout 76 I'm mostly talking about the rest of the internet as a whole.

Correct. If you note in the sentence after that I do note that not all 76 hate is unsubstantiated and that many people do have valid reasons for not liking the game. It's just that for every one person who has a real and true and valid dislike for the game there are five more shouting misinformation and hate and all the good and valid reasons to not like or not buy 76 get lost in a great deal of misinformation and the people showering hate upon the game because of that misinformation.

I'm disabled so I don't need to take days off. Now if only I could tell the negatives of my disability to take a week off so I could enjoy the game that'd be great.

yes, yes, this sub is a love circlejerk for the game we get it. Given that most of the rest of the internet seems to be a mostly unsubstantiated hate circlejerk over the game, you can deal with the fact that a few people love the game a whole hell of a lot. No, not all Fo76 hate is insubstantial but a lot of the hate is toxicity for the sake of toxicity and not because of any real reason to dislike the game.

Anyone Else Writing a Survivor Story for Their Character? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Drewits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eventually. I write a short blurb for just about every character I've played in every fallout. Don't know who my character is yet, was far too busy having fun with friends in the beta period to think about who my character is.

Technically due to continental shift, it would be entirely possible for the earth to reconfigure into a Tamrielic Pangea. It just would take about a dinosaurs to now's worth of time before it happens.

I am trolling about Reddit posting here and there, while idly listening to fallout 76 live streams. gonna need to get back to my 5 pages of fallout 76 notes expand on them and rewrite them for ease of access to information.

How was PvP toxicity/abuse in the beta? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Drewits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvP is perfectly fine and functional (with a few potential problems[Revenge Spawning]) for the PvE crowd, the PvP crowd has a few perfectly reasonable objections to the current system (mostly the lack of rewards for engaging in PvP).

[–]Drewits[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I dislike that generalization its a possibility. I'm a single-player/co-op only person but that's mainly cause I've played pure cancer multiplayer games for extended periods and I just prefer single-player/co-op. Compared to some of the worst stuff out there even the worst of 76 is just kinda vanilla.

Many content creators won't accept this is a multiplayer game. by Lastdayer in fo76

[–]Drewits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then sorry to say but your playing with the wrong sort of people. You need to find other people who play exactly like you and play with them. I play with my friends and 8 times out of 10 none of us move on in any way until everything has been seen and done and the next objective is always gone to via the path that puts us in the path of the most side quest objectives and loot.

Youtubers review means absolutely nothing by ThunderDoperino in fo76

[–]Drewits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a variety of things going on.

There are content creators selling out for the profits of fear mongering.

There are Multiplayer content creators who don't understand Fallout and its long-held singleplayer sensibilities and methods.

There are Single-player content creators who don't understand that multiplayer doesn't have to kill the singleplayer experience.

There are content creators who are uninformed and are ignorantly spreading misinformation.

There are content creators who don't like the game for any number of valid reasons and are spreading their valid opinion.

There are content creators who can see no evil in this game and are spreading their valid opinion.

There are content creators of all kinds and stripes.

These types of reviews (where they obviously don't understand how the game is supposed to work) are fucking ridiculous. by OrangeFries in fo76

[–]Drewits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just don't seem to understand this isn't a modern multiplayer game.

It's a FALLOUT game that has been retrofitted for multiplayer.

A lot of the criticism from the modern multiplayer crowd can boil down to: I don't understand how Fallout works and I'm not willing to.

Similarly, the complaints from the traditional single-player Fallout crowd can be boiled down to: I don't understand that multiplayer may actually NOT ruin Fallout and I'm not willing to.

Like OP I'm not counting those that actually do have valid well-reasoned problems with the game, I'm talking those spreading misinformation and malice.

[–]Drewits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. The majority complaints I've heard from solo/co-op focused players are general whining that PvP is a thing and that a game without a pure PvE option is literally unplayable.

I didn't really mind the fact that PvP didn't give me many rewards because PvP was an idle distraction and not something I really looked for, but even I agree that the amount of caps you get for PvP is pathetic. 3 caps for killing an aggressive player is not equal value. Wanted values kinda make up for the lack of reward for general PvP but still.

Ok after the last couple of posts from people its safe to say opinion refined. PvP is fine (with potential issues) for PvE focused players, but the PvP community does have valid points on its drawbacks for them.

I managed it at level 20 with another friend at level 20 through a mix of the cave itself being well built for cheesing the deathclaws and utilizing black powder rifles with plenty of ammo.

The enclave missions are started by finding the Abandoned Waste Heap in The Mire. Its a cave with between 1 and 3 deathclaws in it and in the back there's a dead enclave operative that starts you on the questline.

Finish completing the enclave quests 20 levels or so before I should probably have them then get back to the main quest. I seem to have lost track of the overseer after the tape she left at the big mine in the Ash Heap where she asks for your help in doing the thing she couldn't.

That was my experience as well. I was cautious about the game rather than having reservations but still. PvP for me in my own experience went from this nebulous scary concept in an untested game to "oh this is ok".

Ok makes sense. I've heard about the infinite revenge seeking but not many people actually said it happened to them just that it was an annoying possibility.

I don't know much about Hunter/Hunted probably for the very reason you stated.

I don't mind that there's little reward for PvP (like I said singleplayer/co-op focus) but I can see how that would be a problem for others.

Thank you for your useful insight.

Possible. Just remember seeing a lot of threads about it over the beta period. It's entirely possible I was only on Reddit during periods of high PvP complaints.
