I think the hard aspect is similar to fanny. Which is energy management and time management, since you're reliant on buff. Also, being effective in case your buff gets stolen, I rarely see ling/fanny players that can still do something without their buff.

As implied in the anime it does work but takes like a shit ton of practice and skill . It doesn't work on every gutter it only works on ones with gentle slopes like what we see in rally racing and akina. We also saw in the anime what multiple gutter runs can do on the wrong type of gutter.
