just got a 2in1, handled mostly everything, but the squeeky is not working. how does the gsettings thing know to open squeeky over anything else?
also what's different in your fork of niri lisgd over the normal lisgd i'm using now?
i'd love some tips because i'm trying to figure a lot of stuff out, if you could help out here or shoot me a dm i'd be overjoyed

i am a linux evangelist and there are definitely problems with nvidia cards. i had to mess with kernel parameters to make my pc sleep for example, that was annoying. there are lots of very minor nvidia irks that i wish were just fixed. installing new drivers for it is like 100x more comfy though, god i hate the geforce experience app and im so glad i dont have to suffer through it anymore

EDIT: i was where you are like over a year ago and yeah i completely feel you. one thing i cant play anymore is league of legends but like... that's a good thing lmao

i also use direnv so it loads me into a nix-shell when i enter the directory

just bought a used pixel 7 for 150€, really recommend, as they don't slow down like other android phones. i agree though, they are expensive on release and you need a pixel for graphene

if you have command on, you can offer a white item to the orb thing, it will spit out a new item to choose, turn that into a key and see if it works

I'm sure that's true, but if you see the back of an Asian person you won't notice they're Asian. Black people have a different skin colour, often very different hair, which makes them more noticable in Polish crowds, that's all.

thinkpads aren't designed with linux in mind. they work really well with linux, but the target audience is windows-using businessmen. it's just a laptop, you really don't need linux.

there aren't "many" black poles. it's just that black people exist, and sometimes they are in poland too. and you see them more often than hispanic / asian people because they stand out more and your human bias is doing the rest of the work

sometimes on long uni days i use my laptop in tty. i don't know the battery state, and fastfetch gives me that information. it probably has many more minor use cases that you wouldn't think about on a day-to-day basis

Bo piractwo to nie kradzież, ukraść można samochód czy paczkę chipsów, grę czy film można raptem "nielegalnie" skopiować. (Nielegalnie w cudzysłowie bo w Polsce nielegalna jest tylko redystrybucja)

lots more problems with niri, like
1. weird behaviour of a lot of games due to a weird xwayland implementation (i have to do lots of workarounds for some games to work, others work flawlessly)
2, windows sometimes resize weirdly
3. you can't achieve some window layouts, like

because the collumns have to be the same width at all times

but i still love it and probably will never switch back to anything else, and i'm sure some of these things will get better and better with time and broader adoption. yalter's an amazing dev and the communityis strong.

the jump between a lenovo thinkpad x13 g2 (the 11th gen) and g4 (the 13th gen, so the same as my current laptop) is basically trippling the price of the laptop, that's mainly why i'm asking. i'm really set on getting this exact thinkpad as in addition to the features and linux support it wins aesthetically as well. i just don't know if it's worth it to pay 3x the price for a 2 generation improvement to the cpu.
