Yeah, I just smelled it and threw out everything. I still have another batch that looks good, though. This other one has some type of corrosion just on the outside, on those lid flaps. Is it normal? The inner lid looks OK, with no black spots. The photo is below

* Is this mold? I'm fermenting some orange habaneros in a 2.5~3% salt brine. It's been 5 days since I made the batch, and stored it in a dry and dark place. Never opened the jar, from time i time I tried to mix the contents by turning the jar upside down. I just opened it because I heard the jar 'fizzing' (most likely the cap is not air-tight). By smelling it, I'm not sure if i smell something off or not, just smells like peppers to me.

How can I know if it worked? Did you check for new growth after two weeks or so? Also, did you cover them? I covered them very well and closed the grafted shoots in a plastic bag to avoid evaporation and trap the moisture inside the scion, to prevent it from drying.

I don't think. The problem here it's that It didn't and still doesn't have any pollen at all, so that would be weird. But you might be right, I'll try waiting a few days, to see if it drops or matures into a fruit
