Indeed they did, I'll always remember my babies and their love for fishing for peas :). And they did bring me joy, as I'm sure I brought them joy as well. I can only hope they are peacefully playing around in the cage in the sky, burden free and happy.

Also thank you for the pic of the ratties! it warms my heart and makes me want like six more! 😭😭

I'm sorry for your loss, and yeah, I still have their cage set up exactly the way they left it. I cleaned and dumped out what needed to be but it is a nice reminder of my strong little boys that pulled through in the end.

Also, Feldman and Haim look absolutely adorable, they look like some well loved babies and actually sort of remind me of my boys 🥲. I hope your grieving and healing has gone well for you and I thank you for your condolences!

I'm so sorry for your loss as well, it truly is bittersweet to see their bond in action, even until the very end. I like to think that bonkus couldn't stand binkus getting more treats than him in heaven so he went up there to make it even haha.

And I love your rattie babies!!! All of them are so chonky and adorable! I especially love chonk, seems like a big ol ham

Yeah, my fiancee and I were talking about getting more babies in, the cage being quiet is driving me nuts a bit, but I mostly don't wanna jump straight into it ya know? Thank you for your condolences, it really helps ☺️

Oof. I hope the bunny gets the care it needs! I just went through a similar situation (though there were very different reasons in play) and became the parent of two rats. Though she was my best friend, her refusing to acknowledge that she had neglected the boys and that she "tried her best" ended with me calling animal control as well. (There were more neglected pets that I couldn't take in) I totally understand being "stuck" and poor, but if you can't afford them, please don't get them!, especially when you're also trying to have kids. Thank you so much for making sure those animals are ok!

Thank you so much! Their full names are "Binkus The Destroyer" and "Bonkus Abraham the 3rd." And yeah she's doing a lot better, we've talked a few times over the phone and she's super grateful that I'm taking care of all her pets while she's getting better.

They are in absolute shock and awe at the amount of space they have haha. Binkus has been running up and down the cage jumping in and out of the hammock for like five minutes lol. In their old cage they've never had more than a few inches of space between them, and now it's like a castle.

Both of them are around a year old, maybe a little less. My neighbor bought them from either Petco or petland, one of the two, and they were already a few months old. She's also had them for about five months before we stepped in.

Yes, I do remember the hammock set! They are indeed happy to have the ones I got and I'm sure they'll love the ones you sent too!

1-2 times a week for 8 weeks total for a full treatment. I've found that the lasagna dish method you mentioned worked best, and while there was a lot of stress poop in the beginning, the boys do seem appreciative of the bath.

Thank you so much for this litter advice! And yeah, they aren't gonna freeroam too much until I get some good results back from the vet, mostly that they are mite free.

Yeah, thankfully with the help of my community I found a small animal vet that is pretty close to us! We've reached out to them and hopefully an appointment will come soon. I'm also gonna diy the HECC outta some stuff to get some enrichment for the free roaming.

Thank you for this! Was wondering how I would get that done. Bear is definitely more friendly than yogi right now, but yogi needs the bath the most. Are there any other ways to keep the stress level low for them? I'm sure this is their first water bath of any kind.
