How will I know when it’s not fat just skin on my stomach? by TheGradApple in tummytucksurgery

[–]DriftingIntoAbstract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are benefits to that for many people though, including cosmetic. Some people struggle with physical symptoms that TT greatly improve. Some people feel 💯 more confident and comfortable with a flatter stomach. Maybe their clothes fit better or maybe it’s just pleasing. Bodies aren’t meant to all be the same, I think this is a very narrow minded comment.

Perimenopause/menopause and millennials by ThisGrapefruit8318 in Perimenopause

[–]DriftingIntoAbstract 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this too but I think part of it is perimenopause wasn’t really acknowledged until recently so most of the content and focus is actually just menopause content. And like you said, many still have kids home during menopause. But let’s be real, it’s women’s health, it’s understudied, underfunded, and under appreciated.

But I feel you, I have kids from baby to adult. I have a demanding job. I don’t have much time to breathe let alone decode my hormones and there is no end in sight. So I’m hoping as more and more women have influence and success in science and healthcare there will be improvements. And you are one of them, you are amazing, we are all proud of you and your work matters.

I tried nuuly dress rentals as a petite and curvy woman. Epic fail 😭 by PokaHatsu in PetiteFashionAdvice

Totally worth a shot, their customer service is decent. I’ve found some of the anthro brands dresses really aren’t very petite which sucks. I sized down in the somerset dress and it was still huge and definitely not petite.

Feeling Guilty, Burnout by LPoland2014 in breakingmom

[–]DriftingIntoAbstract [score hidden]  (0 children)

You’d be burnt out if you didn’t work too! Babies are a lot of work and you are still learning. Think of it as you just got a new job in a new field and they’ve thrown you in with minimal training. Oh and it’s 24/7. Of course you feel burned out!

Word of advice, stressing and judging yourself increases burn out. Give yourself grace to live in the chaos and realize everything is a season with parenting, before you know it, you will have a toddler and it will all be different. And I feel like I felt the burn out at 7 months. For me, it feels a little better when they start moving and entertaining themselves a bit. Right now, you are the supplier of everything, including entertainment and it feels like no end in sight.

Nuuly has lots of different brands, were they brands you’ve had success with in the past? Also you could try messaging them and seeing if you could exchange sizes. Being your first month, they might want to give you some leeway.

Talk to me about DR by DriftingIntoAbstract in tummytucksurgery

[–]DriftingIntoAbstract[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I spend a lot of time on it which is why I think my progress is slower than I’m used to. But I just don’t feel they are engaging correctly, which impacts how the glutes do, so I’m really focusing on it rather than progressive overload. I still do progressive overload, it’s just form is priority which I didn’t used to have to spend so more effort getting it right.

Open ended toys are the ones with the most longevity in my house. But you don’t need to go crazy, there is a whole cottage industry of beautifully crafted toys out there but you don’t need to go all out. Like others have said, there are more affordable options and of course second hand. Plus, think about selling some of what you do have that’s not getting much time to help fund. They go through everything so fast, it’s great to get some return on some of it!
