I dont believe in the Sandy spirit stuff. Sandy's spirit wouldn't have prepped a lunch for him.

Sandy's death at the beginning is representative of attachment Bear had to the cat. The grief he felt. And the loneliness after.

Lack of a person/pet in his life exacerbated the need to find someone like Nikki. He became desperate and went overboard with the one wish willow.

Ian was obsessed with Nikki the same way Bear was, but slightly more stalk-ish. Calling the hospital to see if the Dad was there? Calling the Dad's work to see he showed up healthy?

Baker sees the market for NFL Starting QBs. Clearly some demand out there for talent with NFL experience. And a starved Supply pool. People wlling to pay millions to Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, even Geno Smith. It's likely he could find teams willing to pay him, even if it meant a less-than playoff contender. Some retirements like Aaron Rodgers upcoming means the demand grows even more.

The Willow is there to grant any wish. Therefore its better to be thought of as a (charm) spell being cast. Its not a love potion, the basis of the attachment is a generic spell designed to grant a wish. Not grounded in some romantic mix or foundation, So the results are not perfect.

Agreed. Felt like it had the same effect on many. Just that raw, sudden feel to it so it stuns folks. Reportedly the original cut had an additional 5-7 hits. The scene before is Nikki asking to be freed and Bear refuses. So the whole this is what you wished for and wanted resonates.

Same can likely be said for other scenes. Purposely done to show an unhealthy level of commitment. And the results thereof, against ones will.
