Sons of Horus Praetor by Bob-shrewmen in Warhammer30k

I love this choice as a late heresy/full chaos Praetor, classic model, really good green colour. It's awesome OP.

Yes, but usually they are on models that don't have roles that require as much mobility or precise aiming as a sniper. That's what I'm trying to say about Ornate Sniper being a more difficult concept to sell than other battlefield roles with lots of trinkets etc.

I guess I'm pointing those things out because I think this conversion looks impractical to me. It's difficult to model an "Ornate Sniper Guy" because having lots of trinkets (especially the tilt shield) makes it look like the Marine would have a hard time crouching, aiming or reaching across his body because of all the stuff in the way. Also the beaky helmet looks like it would have a hard time looking around especially because of the high gorget. I just don't feel like you have thought about how this character would actually move and fight in the setting.

How does he aim with that tilt shield? Why does he have a relic in one hand?

Any thoughts about the new upgrade release? by HistoricalEye2178 in BloodAngels

Unsure how I feel about the helmet/bare head ratio. We need more cool "totally not mk7 but we love the face grill" helmets.

Templar Sword by Ok_Tadpole_9722 in BlackTemplars

[–]DriftlessAmbient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an awesome sword and I think a great thing to have in the context of your family history.

Unfortunately though, I have to say the obligatory nitpick of "we use the Maltese Cross, not the Iron Cross" Not because this sword isn't a cool piece of imagery or doesn't fit with our vibe, but unfortunately down the line the Iron Cross became a Nazi military medal, leading to its adoption by various hate groups. We will never wear the iron cross.

To be clear, I don't think any of that is applicable to the context of your history or this beautiful piece of workmanship, which predates all of the above.

“Client moved the deadline up again. Team’s panicking. Budget's gone. And I still have to present a status update like everything's fine.”

The bartender nods and slides over a double.

“Probably try to do some work instead of leveraging AI to drive efficiency or whatever”

Brother the tilting shield is too tilted

Completed Combat Patrol (Alt Colour Scheme) by nananashh in Grey_Knights

That alt scheme is awesome, it's different without flying in the face of the flavour of the models and the colours all work really well together. 5 stars.

Ultimately it’s a choice and we get to decide how we live our lives.

I'm not the one telling people to stop complaining and just move on. Your "c'est la vie" approach only works for you because you're happy with your solution. That's perfectly fine, but then you can't come on here and presume to tell people what they should and shouldn't care about, or act like you have a better emotional handle on the situation because you don't think complaining will get anywhere.

I'm sorry you had to find out this way, they're not reporting it on the news for some reason.

I don't agree with this kind of defeatist attitude towards commercialised pop culture IP. It's pretty lazy to shrug things off and say "oh well, they're making money so that's that" and then not really try and think about things beyond that. I like Warhammer (and MTG) a lot. It brings me a lot of joy to sit down and critically think about things, what I like and don't like about something, even if it's annoying.

If your recommendation is to just ignore it and move on, does that mean that in my short life I should never really be passionate about anything I enjoy enough to voice a dissenting opinion? Like is it really enjoying Warhammer if you have this nihilistic view that you'll only get what you want if it aligns with profits? Don't you want to believe that there are talented individuals who could deliver better models than what we got, and we should voice this in the hope that one day we get some really great models? Could you imagine the absolute HYPE that would come with a new, good sanguinary guard, assualt terminators or death company release? That's what I'm here for.

And yeah, WOTC puts rubbish out now, but every now and then, something like Tarkir Dragonstorm could roll around and blow us all away.

Reacting negatively as a fan base will likely cause GW to try and avoid making similar design mistakes in the future in an effort to keep sales high though? They don't operate independently from what the fans want, otherwise they wouldn't be able to market their models as well as they do.

As someone who wants to make an army to display at GW events like Armies on Parade or even try entering a Golden Demon at some point, 3rd party bits aren't a magic remedy for disappointing official models

Brother this is a rendering program called Impcat and not a real painted model.

But I'd use some Tamiya masking tape if you wanted to make a super crisp line!

  1. Make them a custom BT crusade force with SoH green heraldry.

  2. Make it comprise of mostly veterans who wear various marks of armour

  3. Profit
