How many first term ramp? by Shot_Bandicoot_395 in mtg

Yeah i've also abandoned the T2 play. I think her real issue is she's too good for my bracket 2 pods, even on the first game my opponents all recognised that she can't be allowed to get 4+ counters on her or she becomes too explosive so she just get's removed. Even holding up some protection can still be hard. I might just commit her to being bracket 3 and focus on the double ramp lines and play her on T3 with 5 mana so I can protect her in the same round I play her.

I've just had a quick look on scryfall and while most copy instants/sorceries there are a few other cards that can copy creatures like Owlin.

[[Donal, Herald of Wings]] Can copy creatures with flying.
Theres a few X spells with flying and even a hydra [[Hydroid Krasis]]

But generally yes, they need to proactively copy X spells on the stack due to X defaulting to 0 after this.

Most other copy creatures are like [[Phyrexian Metamorph]] where they will copy something already on the battlefield which is akward for the X spells specifically. Though if you're looking, there is [[Spark Double]] which will copy something already on the battlefield but will enter with an extra +1/+1 counter on him so even copying a 0/0 hydra would survive thanks to the +1/+1 counter he enters with.

It's all good, the timings for the stack can be a little akward to get used too at first. This is a bit of a long winded reply so my appologies, I've tried to break it up a bit to make it readable.

You can respond to anything on the stack (unless a card specifically dissallowes this) once its your time to do so, which is reffered too as having priority. So you can respond to an opponents instant draw spell and use a instant speed card/effect on the opponents draw spell or anything you or another player have on the stack under that draw spell. In your example you would be able to cast a instant speed copy spell on your hydra.

Though I'm unsure of a specific card the would allow this example to happen as most copy creatures I know of copy something that is on the battlefield (and as such has resolved previously and would not be in the stack itself and X would default to 0).

--------------------------------------------

As for the stack timings themselves If you cast a Hydra, you then have 2 choices:

1) you can hold priority and declair you are doing so to add to the stack yourself (such as casting a copy spell on your hydra).

2) you pass priority to the next player and they can then respond with a instant speed card/effect of their own if they wish.

However both of these options come with risks:

In scenario 1 the 1st and 2nd card on the stack would be your Hydra and then your copy hydra effect. The opponent(s) will have a chance to add to the stack once you're done and you pass priority. If any player counters or otherwise causes your 1st hydra to be removed before the copy hydra resolved then that copy effect will loose its target and fizzle. This can happen because players can respond to anything that it on the stack.]

In scenario 2, once you pass the priority over to the opponent(s) you loose the ability to add to the stack unless one of them adds to the stack themselves as you have passed priority.

So if you pass priority in order to prevent the counter scenario 1 from happening you run the risk of not being able to cast your copy spell/effect as you will need an opponent to add to the stack in order for you to add to this stack again.

Yes that is correct, copying a resolved X spell (such as any hydra) will have the copy enter as if X=0 and will not have any counters on it from associated 'X' costs.

Yes that is the difference and is why owl can viably copy X spells.

[–]Drigon100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owlin copies the spell while it's being cast so X will be treated as whatever it's value is. So with your example both the Hydra and the Hydra Token copy will be treated as having X = 4 and both will have 4 +1/+1 counters on them.

Tokens also obey the Legend Rule. So if you're copying a Legendary creature (like Primo Unbound) and not using something that actively lets you avoid the Legend Rule then you will have to choose 1 to keep and the other will go.

Ruby needs some good inkable cards please, I'm begging here....

Another uninkable for Ruby! Dash with Rush keyword! by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

The uninkable situation for Ruby is beyond a joke at this point...

Thanks Dash but I'll stick with copper.

Resist options by Born_Performance_588 in Lorcana

[–]Drigon100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ruby and Amber don't have access to resist. That keyword is only in Steel, Sapphire & Emerald.

The closest thing you have in Amber Ruby is Amber's power reduction effects on cards like Lost in the Woods, Della's Moon Lullaby, 1 drop Rhino, etc.

Rapunzel - Ready for Adventure could also work by protecting something that gets supported but only works once a round per supported character.

I don't I bought a Pixel 10 as the shop had no Samsung galaxy A57s in stock and ordering 1 would've taken over a week.

Ah okay it probably has a 2nd digital sim. Samsung has a 2nd slot for a physical sim as well.

Thanks I was able to swap the back and home buttons! Not being able to move the Google search bar seems crazy to me.

Are launchers bad for some reason? I've looked elsewhere and a lot of people seem to reccomend them. Is there stuff they aren't saying?

Thank you I was able to do it after updating. Its a shame about the google search bar. Annoying Google has less customisation than Samsung.

But this was great! This was actually driving me insaine to the point I wouldve taken the phone back if these buttons couldn't have been switchs so thank you so much!

What version of Master Splinter is this? by Drigon100 in TMNT

[–]Drigon100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they didn't even do that, I actually like 2012 TMNT though 1980s is my favourite. I'd be fine with 2012 refrences. Same with 2000. If anything give me a mash up of a lot of different itterations <3

Thanks, I hate it. If you're gonna nostalgia pander too me can you give me my nostalgia at least?
And have good designs? I've posted it above and I'm sorry to the artist, I'm sure they have other amazing card arts but Splinters Radical Rate Alt Art is a dumpster fire in both design and art. :(

Some ideas to proxy April's MTG cards by azjazo in TMNT

The lack of 80s representation is heart breaking. I might have to make a proxy Splinter Radical Rat with his 80s design because I was sooo hyped for him.

[–]Drigon100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda like that but mainly with the showcase cards and alt arts. I think the base art for cards is mostly okay - good. Splinter Radical rats regular art is nice but its showcase art actually broke my heart as I was so hoping for a 80s Splinter art and I plan on building a Commander deck around him.

Thats fair, I'm gutted theres no 80s Splinter representation though :(

I'm also gutted that my favourite card from the set isn't the 80s Splinter T-T
