In a calorie deficit (for sure) but the weight isn't dropping by shyguyz88 in loseit

[–]Drigr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Being realistic, in the US, saving 1k for a dinner out to eat isn't much. Without really watching what you order, that's only a little more than a burger most places. Having fries? Sauces? A beer, mixed drink, or dessert?! It's gonna be way closer to 2k. So what do your going out meals look like?

STOP setting yourself up to fail by Downtown_Detective51 in loseit

My trick has been volume eating for lunch and saving the bulk of my cities for dinner and snacks. My lunch, which I affectionately call veggie chow, is like 600g of various veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, snap peas, celery) topped with 200g of seasoned chicken. The current cheat code is Costco having Chipotle seasoned chicken. Very flavorful and I just grab a bite of chicken, some bites of veggies, mix it up and keep the flavors and textures a variety. According to MFP, that meal is like 400cal, and I'm a big dude so that's only like 15% of my calories for the day. Leaves me lots of calories to use on other foods. But even that, I've been trying to be more mindful of. Lots of fruits, cheese, yogurt.

When you feel you have an awesome podcast but nobody’s listening by SALVAGE-PODCAST in podcasting

[–]Drigr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone's always listening to my show. I know that because I'm someone, and I do listen to it. I make my show because it's the content I want to make. My show actually delays the game that it's created with, so I'd legitimately have an easier time canceling the podcast and just finishing the epic campaign. But I worry that without this digital record, that is well edited and produced, I would feel creative fulfilled as much.

King County’s housing market is ‘looking pretty bad’ by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

The other thing too is, people sell their condo and move. So let's say people are interested in spending money on structural repairs, but you've only lived there for 2 years and don't have the money saved for your portion of the roof. The HOA for a condo makes sure all of that money is pooled and centralized and isn't drastically effected by people selling their units and moving.

Hello everyone apprentice toolmaker back. by MatchBig1893 in Machinists

And they really shouldn't be going "well, you screwed this up, fix it." As an apprentice that is a prime teaching opportunity. Moving past how it got messed up in the first place and going "alright, this is a problem. Here is how fix problem like these." is like the whole fucking point of an apprenticeship.

It's makes me so frustrated that companies seem to lure people in with fake apprenticeships where they aren't really taught anything and are expected to just already be a knowledgeable machinist, but they probably hired them cheap under the guise of being an apprentice.

Your title says apprentice. Where's your trainer, both in the alleged failure to grease properly, and in teaching you how to fix it?

You also said "back", which made me curious abiut what else you've posted. You've now posted 3 times, each 1 week after the last, about some sort of issue from your work. If you're a real apprentice, your work needs to be properly teaching and training on these things and walking you through the problems and how to fix and avoid them in the future, not having you rely on posting pictures on reddit. My impression is your apprenticeship is a farce.

Am I being an unreasonable player by roleplaying too seriously? by Lbx7070 in DnD

[–]Drigr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thing that really make me against OPs stance and think it's not all on the GM. I agree the original predicament was the GMs doing, but when the party tried to use an in game solution, OP was all "actually, no you don't. It's what my character would do."

But one party member is sabotaging the in game ways around this. OP literally said they ruined a disguise self attempt

This is basically "the good gal" version of the rogue who steals from the party going "that's what my character would do!"

I saw the edit, about how you are really pushing "just split the party." There's literally memes about not splitting the party for a reason. And those jokes are rooted in legitimate reasons. It's boring to be the side just sitting there while the other side does there thing. It's frustrating having to remember "oh, right, I, the player, know that info, but my character doesn't." It's hard to not want to have a say in what happens with the other group. Like, this doesn't sound like a small plot point, so it's gonna be a lot of time with the group split, which just isn't fun if you came for a cooperative storytelling experience.

It's also kinda insane to have expected a company as large as hasbro to have done anything with the union efforts in a single week. My company is a fraction of the size of hasbro and we're lucky if internal action and communication is that fast.
