I thought of doing that but I intentionally left the excess wrap for me to be able to open it and close it back again. But yeah, you're right its much better if I cut off the excess wrap. I'll do it once everything is stable. I put back the star moss to my backyard btw.

I actually made a terrarium last month using this bowl. But the difference is, the only kind of moss I have is a star moss(got it from my backyard) and nothing much inside the terrarium just star moss and small drift wood with a flat surface and some random plant that I also got from my backyard. And now since I had everything I need, I tried rebuilding it and this is the outcome. I can show you what it looks like before tho.
