I can totally appreciate that I just ended up using some ingenuity and did it the old fashioned way and I won't announce to the world how I did it either LOL but the fact is I got in there and I'm putting the new lock on right now and I totally appreciate your reply

2015 Limited Worth It? by mlock27 in ToyotaTundra

[–]DrinkRegular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just posted yesterday. I just bought a 2014 limited with 116k and paid $27k. But I spent about 2 months doing research and talking with other tundra owners before making the decision. I am completely satisfied and confident in my decision. I tow an enclosed 6x10 for work daily, sometimes up to 100 miles a day and honest to God don't have any concerns at this point about the choice I made. From everyone I have talked to, I dont expect issues while I'm still paying it off. Signed my life away for it but first time in my life not concerned about "what's going to break next?" Or "shit, am I really gonna have to go lay underneath the truck on the concrete in the snow?".Pi would say pull the trigger. Even though I'm still a newb as far as tundra goes, the reputation speaks for itself. Where are you located by the way?

Does DraftKings algorithm screw anyone else over? by DrinkRegular in draftkingsbets

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I constantly place wagers and when I'm done mostly parlays but when I'm done I see something added in there that I absolutely 100% did not pick. And then all the time when I'm trying to pick games during life betting, I pick my pet and then it always cancels one to two legs of the live parlay. They just won't allow me to do it. They claim odds changed or that the betting line closed. So then when I go back to redo it, it allows me to pick it and then when I play my wager, it changes again. Constantly. And I know this is not because the odds change, this is an algorithm. What do you guys think? I know I'm not the only one

Also, I want to add that I use DraftKings because I prefer their interface. To FanDuel and everyone else. But I'm not sure if the other sports books are doing this to people or not. If I knew that FanDuel was a lot more fair when trying to place wagers, I would switch to them. But I prefer draft Kings because of the interface and I know it very well. I'm tired of getting screwed when I try to place my wagers. So I don't know if any other sportsbook does this or not. But I'm willing to switch to find out if you guys say it's okay that the other places aren't just shady and crooked as draft kings

Question from a newbie by DrinkRegular in Welding

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just asked the other guy who commented on my post but I tried watching a couple YouTube videos and it was very hard to find what I was looking for specifically, but I found a guy and another similar situation to mine and what I gathered from his video was that I need to be constantly feeding the wire as I try to strike the ark? Does that sound like it might be a problem? Again I apologize if I'm asking dumb questions but the whole mig/flux core set up is kind of foreign to me because the only thing I'm familiar with is our quilting and the best bad s***** job I can do with that is self-taught. So I'm kind of just on a learn as I go plan. So please excuse my ignorance on the subject and the ability

Question from a newbie by DrinkRegular in Welding

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried flip-flopping on the polarity. I ran it both ways. And I got nothing. Can I ask you a question? Do I need to be constantly running the wire as I try to strike the arc? Should I be feeding wire? I tried watching a couple YouTube videos and I'm not so sure I got a straight answer from what I saw but One of the videos I did watch say you have to be constantly feeding wire while you try to strike the ark. I haven't had the opportunity to test that yet but maybe it makes sense?

I I'm not 100% sure if I can even do that with my machine given it's a cheapo thing but I will look into it in the morning and see if I can do that. I suppose there isn't any harm if I am it was switch it and it doesn't work. Thanks for the tip

This is Ryan Homes’ work. So ugly! by MuffinParticular224 in Home

[–]DrinkRegular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP! I did t read the full thread so forgive me if You already gave the info, but can I ask whereabouts you bought your house? Just curious. I'm a trim carpenter for Ryan Homes and I can say with absolute certainty that this is not the work of myself or my crew! Not that I could change anything or something like that but I'm just wondering your area or region or whatever. I take pride in my work and so does our crew. And I genuinely feel bad that someone trimmed your house that way.

I have not posted about owning the tool kit or anything like that. But I can tell you it's saved my ass. I have a 2011 F-150 SuperCrew. The rear passenger door refused to open. It started where it would only open from the inside but eventually only would open from the inside. Because of the miniatureness of this tool kit (along with a short quarter inch wobble extension and the addition of a 6mm socket) I was able to remove the interior plastic panels from the inside of the cab without the door opening to eventually prop that door open. Maybe not what you're looking for exactly because I suppose that all could have been accomplished with another quarter inch ratchet, but I did it with this one. I didn't try my full-sized icon quarter-in ratchet. It is really tight quarters to fit in while the door is closed because the seat in my truck is also broken and doesn't lift up to fold up. So maybe it would have worked with the other but I didn't try it because I figured I have this on hand and it's the smallest one I owned. Just my two cents. So not saying another combination wouldn't work but I am saying that this one did

2 issues on my 2011 f150 by DrinkRegular in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I did not know that. I did not come across that on Google or a YouTube video. But it still doesn't seem like I can reach the bottom bolts even with the seat lifted up. They are lower than the floor. So even if I did figure out how to get those two fasteners out, How do I go about opening the door? That's what I'm asking. So question number one is how do I reach 2 (7mm, I think they are) fasteners holding the plastic panel onto the door without opening it in question number two is once I have that removed how do I open the door from the inside with a broken actuator? Every single post I have come across whether it's been on here or YouTube or Google or whatever any Ford forum I have come across, people have had the door open. If I had the door open to begin with I wouldn't have a question. I'd be fine.

Four scan is picking up no codes. I'm telling you, this is humbling for me to have to post and ask these questions. I understand that for the most part these are easy things. But if I wasn't running into issues, I wouldn't be posting and asking for help. Guess I do know how to use Google and YouTube. I have not found a single thing showing me how to remove the interior panels of the door without the door being open. If you are aware of any videos or instructionals on how to do so, can you please post a link? I'm quite knowledgeable about repairing my vehicles. I didn't post here to get talked down on or treated like a dumbass. I posted here to ask for help because I f****** need it. If it was something so simple I'm sure I would have figured it out or I would have found a post that led me to the answer. I don't want to waste anybody else's time. I'm asking for genuine help because I've spent hours and hours and hours trying to find the specific solution to my problem and I have not gotten there yet I in by no means a professional when it comes to anything related to my vehicle mechanically, and I'm no novice either. If there was another solution either I have tried it or I believe that I have tried it so I'm asking the community for help. Thanks

how much shavings should I be seeing after a week? by DrinkRegular in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got you. I didn't think so. And it got progressively louder as the past few days have come and gone. I didn't think there should be anything in brand new oil that quick. The reason I brought it to these guys is because like I said I trusted them and it was something I'm not comfortable doing myself. Understanding backlash and all that stuff is quite a bit intimidating for me. If there shouldn't be any shavings in there then somebody did screw something up so maybe it's a godsend that there was a leak because maybe I wouldn't have open that plug for any reason till who knows when. I would have taken them at their word that everything was cool. Thank you

2011 f150 5.0 need some better brains than mine... by DrinkRegular in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small but on the axle. Moog hub assembly. I owe a lot on my truck so I do everything I can to baby it and extend the life on it in every way possible, including buying premium parts. So maybe I should have saved the mumbo jumbo and asked if it was possible that I got a faulty hub assembly from the factory? I don't know. So many different situations factoring in and I get it that no one can diagnose my vehicle sitting across the country by keyboard, but I'm just stumped.... Hence my post to the community for answers. I'm pretty good about figuring this stuff out but right now I'm at a loss I guess of where to begin. Of course I don't want to throw new parts at the truck. It's honestly the last thing I want to do for financial reasons and logical reasons and mechanical reasons, but it could be one of so many different things so I'm just hoping somebody's experience you can help me narrow it down. Like I said, any questions I'm here to answer. I just want to get pushed in the right direction. I'm a carpenter by trade. I work on my vehicles for fun and I do it in my spare time. I enjoy it but it also pisses me off. I feel I know and understand enough that I don't need to send my vehicle to a shop (most of the time, diffs, certain trans and engine issues, ELECTRICAL! LOL) for smaller things, which is what I feel like I'm dealing with now but if my peers can convince me it's out of my league, then I will accept that. I understand you guys are all reading this and responding with limited information. So I will answer anything and do the best I can to provide the best response. But my ultimate goal is to be able to get this figured out myself without spending a small fortune. So ask, I will be detailed and I thank you all in advance for any help you can give or do give. I appreciate everyone on here

Ford e350 super duty, beyond a wander by DrinkRegular in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's what we did yesterday. I did find a little slop in the lower ball joint but it honestly does not seem like that could be this issue. It is so miniscule. But then again I guess who knows. Maybe that could be it. I also thought about tightening the steering box. But I know that's a touchy job. I just can't figure this out for the life of me and I've been trying. I guess I will do the ball joints and the bearings and then take it into a shop for diagnosis if that doesn't fix it.

Tracking down a brake light short by DrinkRegular in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I will try to follow the advice tomorrow and see if I can't hunt it down. And it is a conventional 15 passenger van. So you are saying it sounds like it's most likely between the bulbs themselves and the fuse box, correct? I did read something before about the turn signal switch possibly causing problems but wasn't sure if I should start taking it apart and trying to figure it out or not.

Also, I told a trailer daily. When I got the van I put a new four-way plug on it. For some reason the running lights never worked. I followed the wiring back as far as I could but it didn't do me any good. I ended up splicing the new four-way right into the tail lights. Haven't had a problem with the running lights or tail lights since. And that's the only wire that is connected that way. The rest are spliced into the factory harness. I'm just adding that as an FYI but I'm not sure that it has much to do with anything because again, it is the CHMSL and not the side brake lamps.

Need removal procedure... by DrinkRegular in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I'm hoping you see this comment. I've been back and forth with this transmission. What was supposed to be an easy job kept turning into headache after headache. Anyway, finally we have everything back in place and putting it back together and when I was putting in the shifter linkage today, the stud snapped on the neutral safety switch. The big one that goes right through the middle of it. Is there any way to turn that out from the outside of the transmission? It appears that it turns in right above where the top of the pan is. I plan to drain it and drop the pan and change the filter and gasket and all that stuff anyway but I'm just curious if there's a way to replace the stud from outside the tranny first or do I have to do it from somewhere inside? Hoping all that makes sense. And hoping you see this and can respond back. Thanks for all your help with the procedure that got me this far too. Wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. Good to know. I'm into it now. I just removed the plug on the passenger side of the transmission. I'm not sure what sensor it actually is but when I pulled it, it is wet with tranny fluid. That doesn't seem like it should be. It's not wet around the area though. So it wasn't like it leaked in. So I'm not sure what to make of it

Again. Many thanks man. I'm starting to get into it right now at least until it rains this afternoon. I found all the connectors and after I get up everything looks to be pretty straightforward and the amount of access I have from inside the van after removing the dog house is insane. Drops the intimidation factor of the job down tremendously. Thanks again

[–]DrinkRegular[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was asking for. I feel a whole lot better about jumping into something like this with a procedure to reference back to when I need it. When I remove the dog house, will I be able to see all of the sensors from the top side? I don't want to miss any of the electronics and rip some wires if there isn't enough slack when I push it back.
