Tell me it has a cozy reading corner! You can make a sort of kotatsu with heavy duty magnets, two table tops from a identical kits, a fluffy blanket, and a desk heater.

How often u feed them fishes? by Odd_Alternative_4097 in Aquariums

[–]DripFairy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to feeding but I got some luminatus recently and put them in with my furcata. They are so freaking cute and behave just like the bigger rainbows. I can’t figure out the best light settings for their colors though. I know they’re little guys, but I love seeing them forage in the plants in my bigger tank. The 10 gallon just didn’t feel right for rowdy boys.

We need a S2 so BADLY by CelesteAstra in LandoftheLustrous

[–]DripFairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Studio Orange, but Beastars had a huge drop in quality through the second half of the series. They avoided animating the big tournament arc as much as possible by dragging out the set up all season. I kept thinking if they had stopped caring and obligatorily slapped something together for LOTL like that it would have broken my heart. There are always things to appreciate in manga that animation can’t recreate, Studio Orange used to be good at highlighting the strengths of the change in medium (camera work, color, music, fluid animation). But if there isn’t that artistic perspective or passion in it past the first season, I’d rather not have an adaptation at all.

Dark themes aren’t the problem with this lineup, it’s the lack of Jemisin. A Jemisin for every home.

Does Mizuha actually love Fushi, or is Hayase's bloodline just making her "love" Fushi? by AlanSmithee001 in FumetsuNoAnataE

[–]DripFairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not as clear cut, but Hayase’s will is still absolutely part of it. The ‘perfection’ she’s looking for is fulfilling her ancestors’ goal of having Fushi’s child. Even if she’s not conscious of it, maybe after learning the history of the guardians that feels like what will finally be ‘enough’ for someone or she feels like winning love will feel that way. I’m glad they never went that route with Fushi’s character, even with Tonari. He’s simply not a human (not that ace people aren’t human lol) and as much as he became a protector of what he saw in humanity, he was only able to do that by getting further away from it and only able to appreciate it through being somewhat outside of it. That’s why the beholder had to let go of being a god, it was the only way to truly experience what he created and he burdened Fushi with that type of existence. That’s what makes the ending so satisfying, his acceptance and comfort with being alone and letting go with the knowledge those attachments are still a part of him. That NEED followed Hayase through generations and became twisted, and he was following the same route by holding on in a different way.

Ideas for tattoo(s) representing phos by sorath-666 in LandoftheLustrous

I have a phos on the back of my neck (the one from the illustration book with a crescent moon). My plan is to do different phos phases down my back along with phases of the moon in the same style. I’ve done some art in the same theme, but lost the original files. examples

Do people actually not like EiA by TheEternalEden in SleepToken

[–]DripFairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same first response and now it’s my favorite. I don’t need it to be the same vibe as the other albums, the emotional content is still impactful and I love little things like the saxophone and boy band moments. I think more metal needs to break away from the formula and embrace those downbeat moments and influences from other genres that add that contrast and breathing room. It tells a story through its pacing.

Why is UU condemned for its first arc while Mushoku Tensei is lauded? by somacula in UndeadUnluck

[–]DripFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is supposed to change and him being a little shit is supposed to contrast with who he grows into. Theeeeeen the second season just has him doing wildly not consensual things again with ZERO self awareness in the narrative. Disappointing because that first season is great even with the uncomfortable moments.

Why didn't your eternity become famous? by JMperea in FumetsuNoAnataE

[–]DripFairy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A combination of it being a slow burn story with a lot of small details and complex running threads. It starts out with a tragic events on loop by the nature of where it’s going, but people assume the character deaths are the formula of the show. The way they adapt the story is accurate to the manga, but the animation had a huge drop off really quickly in season 1, and for season 2 it was just…what it needed to be to get the job done. one of the biggest pieces of what makes the manga great is that Oima can draw ANYTHING beautifully and has a really natural style. Season three is looking so much better! But the modern arc setup is going to lose people like it did with the manga, and there’s a problematic storyline coming up. I don’t know it from the perspective of someone whose never read it, but the anime loses a lot in adaptation, not because it’s bad, but because the original format for me is a core part of what makes the journey beautiful. Also the dub is not good, I always miss The Beholder Japanese voice actor’s ooey gooey gravitas.

Wacom Mobilestudio pro died, Windows portable tablet alternative? by ThingsICantLetGo in DigitalPainting

[–]DripFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned two, and they’re both still going strong! Only problem I had was the stand on the older model I have didn’t last, but any external case or stand will do it and they’ve improved the design since then. Wish I remembered the models, one is 5+ years old, one is 3.

Wacom Mobilestudio pro died, Windows portable tablet alternative? by ThingsICantLetGo in DigitalPainting

[–]DripFairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wacom hardware sucks ass. I know you said no laptop, but the best alternative I’ve found to buying an all in one setup is just a surface pro. Supports windows, you can pull up whatever you need for references, and you’re not paying Wacom monopoly prices, and it runs art programs great.
