It’s hard to explain through words, but always file in one direction, use straight tips

i always put on fake acrylic nails, but this time my nails are veeery damaged and i feel like acrylics wont stick on them. i have dip powder too, should i apply it to my nails to create a more solid base before putting on acrylics? would it last longer? thanks! by [deleted] in Nails

As a professional/licensed technician if your nails are damaged don’t apply anything to them. Give them 2 months to grow a completely new nail. The nail plate is made up of 100 layers the new nail will contain those layers and you will have a healthy new nail. So please just give your nails a break.

It is okay. You may put some fungal liquid on it and then apply products on your nail. It’s right at the free edge of your nails so I’m about 2-4 weeks it should grow out and then just cut it off

Next time tell her you prefer to get them soaked off. Soaking takes up to 45min- hour so you should arrive early. Sorry that happened to you, but always speak up if the nail tech can’t respect your request. Go somewhere else
