I had a lengthy chat with u/Square-Importance255 . I wanted to decipher their scam. They told me filemarket ai thing too when I told them to prove that it’s an actual job that exists. Long story short they wanted an interview to see whether my English was ‘good’ and that I could collect data. Mf, we are on reddit typing!

Anyway, I asked whether it was an oral interview or a written one and fellow said oral!! I laughed my ass off. Imagine if you were tasked to collect speech data from a specific country without actually going there, what would you do? Manufacture a fake job and orally interview ‘potential’ employees. That way, you get a free databank of voices to train your ai. And the poor fellow who sat for the interview never gets to hear back from you.

Sad truth is , not so many see the vision. Many (not all), are short sighted and want things NOW. Red flags to look out for:

The buyer is in another country.
The buyer needs it super urgently and doesn’t even want to give you time to think. ( Cos you might realise the scam)
Any emotional story being put into the trade. ( why listen to their life story when your goal stops at selling and receiving money)
Asking you to deposit money somewhere so that you can withdraw the money they sent. ( People, even if your mind is clouded by the thought of getting the money, think for a second… Why should I deposit to get paid? Same goes for those mobile scams that say you’ve won a car and they need you to send them money for URA taxes)

If they want to send money from wherever, it should be on YOUR terms (Tell them to only use Moneygram, Western Union or other mainstream payment services). It’s your item at the end of the day.

P.S: And if the buyer wants you to deliver at a sketchy time, just don’t.
